I haven't been here in ages, and I'm very sorry! Zelda's been crazy.
Ear taping is going great. She had a scare yesterday with an aural hematoma (ruptured blood vessel in ear caused by her shaking her head too hard = swelling and pain) and was hospitalized for 8 hours, but is just fine now and we're back to taping.
The swelling went down so fast due to the meds our vet put her on that we were able to show today, too! A second in my division for Juniors and a Best Baby Puppy in Breed, as well as a baby puppy group second! So proud of my girl. She had no idea what she was doing, which was adorable. Juniors was a bit of a mess as I forgot high-value bait, but one of my show friends gave me some roast chicken for the rest of my classes. She got overexcited during Juniors and chewed the standard bait harder than she should have, which resulted in a lot of teeny little cuts on my right hand that decided to bleed a lot. Gotta love those shark teeth.

Awee, she sounds like a little cutie !! Did you take any pics ???

NOOOO, she is an ugly piggy. Kestrel is the cute one, and smart, and good with other dogs she perfect.

Pfft, Kes is a mega B with most dogs and only lets people who earn her trust pet her. Faaaar from perfect lol

Swizzy is adorable, she has the second most squishable face that I need to squish!

Sentry is no longer a teeny worm filled bean, now hes a weird looking monster hooligan.

Hobbies include but are not limited to: barking, biting, obsessively squeaking toys, more barking, more biting, terrorizing the cats, shredding my prized possessions, escaping crates, even more barking, continuously foriging for food and having nonfood items removed from his face, even more biting.

He's enteted into a glorious fear period where he is constantly going "u wonna fite m8" to basically everything. We were outside and a big mushroom had come up overnight. He finally saw it, stiffened, and marched over to it yelling at it. I rushed over thinking maybe there was a snake in the grass I couldnt see.. nope.. screaming his dumb head off in anger at a weird mushroom. Hes also done this to plastic bags, a wooden pallet, and my husband 'suddenly' appearing outside... ie driving up the driveway and getting out of the car. Sen, please.

Its a good thing hes cute.

Still no idea what breeds he is.

Image throw nack to his first ever picture
Honey, it's in the stars
And you're my everything from here to Mars
And every word I say I truly mean
Dear darling, I hope I'm being clear
'Cause there's no one like you on earth
That can be my universe

Chloe gave me a mother's day gift, lol. I got a solar bobbing flower and a bag to carry stuff that stuffs into a little drawstring watermelon. The card had paw print stamps and was of a dog getting breakfast in bed, totally the way Chloe looks at the world, lol. Obviously my mom did it all, but it made me very happy. Chloe was even good about sitting on my lap while I was opening everything.

I also bought her a "My Mom is the Best" t-shirt to celebrate the day.

Aww, that sounds so sweet! I always enjoy hearing about little Chloe.

@Cardinal haha he's adorable! He could get away with anything with that cute face.

So, we're training for a canicross race, we ran a mile yesterday and biked 6 miles today.
Despite her barking pretty much the entire way on the bike ride it was fun, hoping she'll sleep off the rest of the day now.

So, we had an incident with Spade and another pitbull. A neighbor of mine has a female pitbull that is constantly roaming,
this dog is aggressive and has almost attacked me once. Animal control has seized the animal, is it is scheduled to be put down, I don't know when, I was just notified that it is.

I was walking Spade, our daily mile walk/run, and the dog comes from the owner's back porch and slowly walks over to us, slowly and stiff-legged, tail raised, just aggressive posture. I immediately put Spade in a 'sit, stay, and look here(focus, eye contact). I call out to the dog's owner, who is sitting on her porch, wrapped in a blanket, reading a book. By then, the other pitbull is a small distance away and is standing there barking and I'm afraid to move, not wanting to trigger any kind of attack. The owner yells the dogs name, Bella, but of course the dog doesn't listen and continues barking at us. I know its hard for Spade to ignore the other dog, and to an extent she isn't, she is developing animal aggression and already does not like dominant female dogs.

I should have predicted it, but Spade suddenly goes stiff and both of the dogs lunge at the same time, Spade lunges with so much force that the leash actually snapped. I don't know how, the other dog is bigger than Spade(not by much, still small and slim APBT size), but Spade gets a hold on the other dog's neck and Bella is on the ground, but still fighting and scratching and biting at Spade and catches her ear, which starts to bleed. I was in shock for around 5-10 seconds, but then rushed over to them and Bella's owner has reached us by then.

I didn't have any trouble getting Spade to release Bella, just a loud 'let go', but she did try to go back and get to the other dog. I did get bit by the other dog, on my thumb and there was lots of blood. Both of the dogs(and me) are fine though, Spade does have a small gash in her ear, but its healing up fine. I'm really just frustrated, this other dog, Bella has been on the loose for at least two weeks, owner had been notified and aware that her dog was aggressive and still did nothing about it.

I'm so sorry this happened to you and Spade! What a horrible owner. :(

@Cardinal - Aw, Sentry is adorable. He's so healthy and handsome looking now. Good to know he's a happy healthy crazy puppy now. :)

The Chewbacca went on his very first hike today! I am so incredibly proud of him! Loose leash the entire time! (Minus when he was being reactive but I don't count those lol)

He even walked past two people without reacting! Did react to one guy, and the 3 bike riders we saw, but still I'm super proud of him! He was not muzzled most of the time actually and did really well! He wore it a bit when I heard a large group (luckily they didn't come into sight) and for some practice wearing it in new situations like that!

He was so happy to be out exploring and having fun! I can't wait to take him again when it cools down!
