I watched "Top Gun" for the first time the other night, and i would love and AU for it. Gonna be vague in my descriptions (and forgetful with names...).

Lance is Mav, and Hunk is totally Goose. Shiro can be viper, and obvs Keith is Charlie. But what to do with Pidge? Maybe Pidge can be the guy in the tower spilling coffee 'cause of Lances fly-byes? And we can place Iverson in for the leader guy whos on the carrier, maybe.

Character assignment aside, I would have to change Hunks story bit. Simulation, rather than the real deal, but knowing Lances character, it would shake him senseless all the same. But other than that, a Top Gun AU would work nicely.

Was also kind of thinking of an "Interstellar" AU. This wouldn't be shippy, I don't think, do to the character relationships of the film.

But like Shiro is Coop, and smol-baby Keith is Murphy. Pidge could totally be either T.A.R.S or C.A.S.E; Those robots are amazing, and their "personalities" are pretty fitting for Pidge. Allura is Amelia, and Alfor is the professor; that just makes sense at this point. Dr. Mann can be Zarkon. >.> But that's about as far as I get, because Idk who I would want to play the role of Murphy's Brother, With Shiro being Coop. I can't duplicate shiro; it would destroy the story. And, I don't know who I want in the roles of Romilly and Doyle, considering.....

This is more of an In-progress idea than my Top Gun idea.

Sorry I don't really post on here much but I think y'all should probably keep the Shaladin drama off this thread since it's pretty alienating to people who do ship Shaladin stuff, and surely this should be a hate-free zone where we can all be space pals in harmony? I mean, I know it's not super crazy right now, but it really just gives me a bad vibe--

sorry to contribute to the drama, but putting potentially harmful shippings/content in fiction CAN affect people in real life. just because it's fiction does not mean it can't affect someone's mental mind or potentially bring up bad memories of traumatic experiences for them.
