Murderers in Riverclan V.2 [Roster Update 10/30]

Sandflower was stunned silent by the discovery. This young apprentice was killed, and by who? She didn't smell any other scent nearby but that of RiverClan. Could someone here really have-- No, they couldn't... could they? She kept silent, though, not wanting to bring up such a possibility. Besides, Adderscar and the rest of his family needed some time to mourn.

"He's not with the dawn patrol!?" Mosspaw's fur bristled with alarm but she followed Bloomheart anyways, her eyes darkening with worry. The sight of her father grieving over Molapaw stopped the tabby molly dead in her tracks and for a few moments, she was frozen. Her mind was sluggish as she tried to process what had happened. Molapaw was dead. Stumbling slightly, Mosspaw was numb as she helped her father carry Molapaw home.

"Guys, we have to go tell the clan." She urged. Although her mind still swirled with sadness, and she felt bad that one of her sister's kits had died at a cat's paws. Was it because of another cat? When they picked the body up, she padded slower so the other cats could keep up with her. "I'm so sorry guys. I never thought.." She trailed off. When they arrived at camp, no cat spoke. They were all stunned by shock. The cats laid Molapaw near the center of the clearing.

"but.. why molapaw? why him? why and apprentice? why anyone?" She said softly to herself has she slightly shook in fear and sadness as she silently followed the patrol back to camp.

[Nocturnal Creatures]

It was almost a unanimous vote by the cats of Riverclan.
When Moonstar first called the vote it seemed a bit
uncertain as to who would be exiled. A few cats called
out Adderscar but most eventually decided upon the poor
she-cat Rosetail.

The young warrior looked around at her clan with a mix
of fear and fury on her face. She couldn't believe that
they would think that it was her.
"Why me. You know I could never hurt anyone, least of
all Molapaw." Her voice quavered with fear and
saddness. She knew that it was pointless to argue.

None of the other cats said anything as they waited for
Moonstar to speak.
"Rosetail. You must leave this clan now. If you are
found in our territory after today then we will not hesitate
to kill you on sight." Moonstar's voice was a clear threat.
If the leader had her was then they would have killed the
she-cat now just to avenger Molapaw's death. But that was
not the warrior's way.

Rosetail left the camp and headed towards the clan border.
Little did she realise that she was being followed. The other
cat spoke up behind her as the neared the border and the
Thunderpath.
"Why? Why did you kill him Rosetail?" The murderer
asked in a mocking tone. The she-cat didn't get a chance to
respond before the killer darted at them, claws outstretched.

Rosetail fled, not realising the danger and was struck down
by a monster. The killed walked back to camp, a smug look
on their face. They didn't even need to touch their quarry to
kill them. Starclan truly was on their side...

You exiled an innocent warrior Riverclan better be quick
or you may all be killed in time. After all this killer seems
to think that they have the will of Starclan on their side...

[Nocturnal Creatures]

The clan had discovered Rosetail's body lying by the side of the
road. Cats didn't often go out that way as it was so close to
twoleg territory, but this time they had found her. This led many
cats to believe that they were actually safe from the killer.
After all Starclan had struck down the murderer to save their
clan. Hadn't they?

Bulllfrog-throat lay anxiously awake that night. Something had
felt off for a long time now. She was an old cat and with her
wide range of health issues she knew that her time was soon to
come. Starclan, however, had been silent for so long. Why didn't
they speak to her? She sighed as she stood up and went about
sorting the herbs, hopefully that would take her mind off of it
all.

A voice spoke from the entrance to her den.
"Bullfrog-throat?" The cat asked. The old she-cat turned
around to look at the newcomer.
"What is it? What do you need so late?" Bullfrog-throat
asked suspiciously.
"I, um, I was just out walking 'cause I couldn't get to sleep
and, well, the patch of catmint that you grow for leafbare? I
think it has been destroyed!" The cat said, slight panic rising
in their voice.

Without another word Bullfrog-throat moved to leave the den,
indicating with her tail for the other cat to show her. The two
cats moved through the forest, their pace slow to ensure that
Bullfrog-throat didn't tire to quickly. When they arrived at the
catmint patch, sure enough it had been destroyed.
"Who would do something like this!?" The medicine cat
asked, fury rising in her voice. "Every cat knows that this is
crucial to our survival each leafbare why-" She was cut off
as the killer leaped at her, slamming her fragile body to into the
ground.

It was over quickly. Bullfrog-throat wasn't strong enough to fend
off her attacker. It was over with a quick and clean killing bite
to the neck. The killer was one step closer to achieving their
goal...

Riverclan, you have just lost your medicine cat and your first
witness. Time is running out, hurry before it is too late...

Conchpaw awoke without Bullfrog's grating voice urging him to prepare her a meal. It felt... wrong. It was unusual for the shecat to leave the den at all, even moreso without telling the hairless tom. Maybe she's in the dirtplace? Conchpaw wondered, rolling back over in his nest and closing his eyes, slipping back into an uneasy slumber.
