It could be entirely possible that the galaxies are the same ratio and that its demand that put one above the other tbh!

I would say the same with the toxics, i wouldnt be surprises of the green is less rare then the yellow but demand once but them together on the list!

Like, observing 18th outcomes only shows you as much as you find, its not like i looked at all of the adopted toxics etc xD only a handful like 20-50 each year!

It's not just rarer than the yellow DD, according to the data it's rarer than the purple even. It's the least represented toxic in our data currently! I'll be very interested to see if the next few spreadsheets push it down. So far a total of 104 toxics have been counted. Our lowest litter count is the sorbets with only 70 counted, but that's not surprising as many people would've adopted them back in July.

Just as a disclaimer though, until the sorbets are closer to equal in ratio, I don't think our data is solid enough to draw any conclusions. The last batch of data helped somewhat so I am hopeful the next few will help even further. I am using the sorbets to judge the quality of our data as I'm unsure what else to use to do so.

Oh lol i misread you! Well that cant be right haha altho werent green toxics deleted because it was the least liked in 08? I remember it only rising in demand in late late 09 early 10 when i started my hoard of yellows.

Im surprised things have gone so fast now! Someone has volunteered to look for rarity changes of the store pets so thats being done, ill have a draft of the sept list with the data we found probably by the weekend too! Fun when things actually go at a pace we can work with, just to show what more help does :)

No idea about the deleted pets, I was unaware of any mass deletion effort aside from the sillies who deleted their UR Bananas because they were disappointed they got a dying fruit instead of a pet =P
CS's robots.txt doesn't allow archiving of viewpet unfortunately so we can't look back in time to see what they were.
Across all our data which is now 1500 pets counted, only 27 pets were deleted and some were done so almost sequentially so it's possible they were users deleting their duplicate outcomes. There's a batch in the 40k range that are almost certainly 2nd gen dogs based on the non-deleted pets near them. There's a batch in the 20k range that are most likely August rats.


EDIT: Just went through and counted pets from 20751 - 21000, will add them to the results.
Sorbets looking ok, green sorbet is no longer underpresented but blue sorbet is still overrepresented. Hopefully the next 2-3 spreadsheets to come in will help fix that.
Balloons are looking better, they were originally equal but the nonballoon is now dropping compared to the others which is what we expected.
Green toxic is still out of place. Blue toxic has now swapped with Red Toxic as my own count saw a ton of blue toxes and barely any reds.
BEGs & CEGs are still perfectly even at 71 each. At this point it's looking like they are equal in rarity.

I found some links that I sent to Sol (they're links to old threads, and for some reason that I can't figure out, I am currently paranoid about publicly posting links to old threads), but apparently, the Vixen second gens went up August 16 (there's a post that leads me to that conclusion). And for eyeball comparison purposes:

pet ID 24107 with adoption date 2008-08-10
pet ID 34106 with adoption date 2008-08-16
pet ID 44107 with adoption date 2008-08-17
pet ID 54107 with adoption date 2008-08-20

Without finding the first/last pets adopted on each day, I can't figure out approximately when in each day these pets were adopted (e.g. is that 34k pet among the first or the last of the August 16 pets?), but I don't think the exact times matter, because... I think it's safe to say from eyeballing the above ^ that we got a flood of people adopting the Vixen 2nd gen babies when they came out. That would explain the aforementioned deluge of "Other" pets in the 40k area.

Also, 2nd gen babies are always differentiable at birth (with very, VERY few exceptions, and none of them happened in 2008!), so people were probably more inclined to adopt more IMMEDIATELY (remember, no adoption limits yet!) to get all the blankets they saw other people with.

On a similar note but unrelated to second gens: I'm pretty sure the balloon dogs newborn had a tri-colored blanket OR it was just the purple-colored blanket (speaking from memory, which I admit could be failing me... I remember not thinking that there could be more outcomes and so I didn't think to adopt more balloon dogs; also, purple-only wouldn't be too strange because pink + blue = purple more or less LOL I also remember being surprised when I first saw the pink and blue balloon dogs, although I have no idea when I first saw them...). Similarly for the October 2008 red/teal/orange litter, and similarly for a few other newborns throughout CS's history. BUT upon adoption, you received a newborn with a single-colored blanket.

This may have influenced whether people adopted more pups right off the bat. Is this relevant?

And looks like the August 2008 -> September 2008 transition was as on-time as you can get with manually doing everything =P last adoption date for any August 2008 pets should be 2008-08-31, as there are September 2008 pets with adoption date 2008-08-31.

The work you're doing here and the effort you're all putting in this is amazing. I'd absolutely want to help out, but the problem is that I have absolutely no idea how to run such a spreadsheet. If someone could explain it to me, I could help too!
