Alexa shook her head. "I look like a git." She said. She tugged at the ribbon, wanting to take it out. She crossed her arms and stepped outside. "What now?"

"Don't take out the ribbon," said Melody. "And, you're wrong. You look beautiful. Come on." She tugged the taller girl along with her as she went outside then waved her hand at the stalls all along the marketplace walls. "There's plenty of boys here. Just have a bit of fun."

Alexa didnt think boys were meant for fun. They were meant to fight with. She looked like a stupid git, she would give anything to get back on the ship, and into some pants. She kept a scowl on her face, letting anyone know she wasnt the type to be messed with. She shook her head at the stupidness of her dress. Everyone was staring at Melody any way.

Melody reached up and pinched Alex's cheeks, making it seem like she was some kind of annoying aunt. The kind who keeps seventy cats in their house. "Your face will get stuck like that if you scowl all the time," she informed the girl. "Now, come on. You're not a boy, so you can't act like one all the time. Loosen up, flirt a bit, but don't make them think they have to fear you." Melody winked at a passing delivery boy, who started until he was given a smack upside the head by a baker whom he had run into. The girl looked back up at Alexa. "With that scowl on your face, you do look like a git. So smile."

"Smiling is for weaklings." Alexa said. She didnt want to flirt with anyone, in fact, she didnt know how. She just stared ahead, her scowl staying there.

Melody twitched her fingers and a pair of lethally sharp knives dropped from her long, flaring sleeves and into her hands. The petite girl spun them in the heels of her hands and smiled broadly, pointing them at Alexa. "Call me a weakling, then," she said, still smiling. "I dare you." Then she tucked her blades back into her sleeves and rolled her eyes. "Honestly. You're such a wet blanket." She gestured at the dress, and said, "I paid seven gold crowns for that, though, so if you're going to go back to the ship I want you to put it in a box and leave it in Sonja's hideout for me." She turned around and strode off into the crowd, moving out of sight towards a booth that sold trinkets carved from seashells.

"Weakling." Alexa hissed under her breath. She walked to a small bench on the side of a building. She sat on it grumpily, crossing her arms and staring at the ground.

Liam Lysander Gray hefted the length of steel over his shoulder and watched, curious, as two girls argued up ahead. One, the short, a girl with fiery red hair and wearing a long white summer dress, went off to examine something in a booth across the way. The other, the taller, who was wearing a pretty blue dress but an ugly scowl, stalked off to a nearby bench and plopped herself down on it, only to begin scowling at the ground. Liam swaggered over and leaned on the steel, asking the girl, "What's wrong, sweetheart? You look like you just ate some kind of electric eel."
