Mink jumped, caught off guard by the she-cat. He took a few paces back, but settled when he saw she did not look aggressive. He studied her, his ears twitching in curiosity. "My name's Mink," he meowed, placing the fish behind his forepaws. "I yowled because.. well, I was happy. Sorry I disturbed you." He took a few more moments to speak. "What's your name? I'm sure you know I'm no threat, so there's no need to be worried," he meowed, giving her a bright, friendly smile. "I live around here, do you?" he added, his tail waving happily.
Featherpaw's fur fluffed up, making her look twice her size. She leaned back, unsure for a few moments. When she realized Wolfpaw was simply being friendly, she settled, looking down at her prey again. "U-um.. sure, I-I'd.. like that." It was rare that any cat came up to her, much less someone around her age. No one.. liked her much. But she knew it was her fault. She was so awkward and simply dumb. "Did.. did you want.. to share with me?" she meowed quietly, nudging her meal towards the other apprentice. "D-don't mind the marks in it, that was just.. me."
Thrushleap brushed her pelt against her mate's, a frown plastered to her face. "What if he's got problems? Like.. a sickness," she muttered, her tail lashing. "You know, that could happen," she meowed, glancing at Cloudgaze. "And our kit.." She sighed, shaking her head. "I'm sorry. I know you want this. So do I. It just.. frustrates me I can't.. you know, do it for you. Instead of some loner no one even knows." She stayed silent for a few moments, thinking. "But I suppose this is the only way."
Adderstrike broke slowly away from his leader as he sat down. He had told him about the prey he'd been catching, and how plump it was. All he wanted to do was visit his mate but also talk to Tinystar about how good the prey was.. should he ever decide he wanted to leave this place. Adderstrike would whole-heartedly disagree with that. He shook his head, clearing it of those thoughts. He bounded towards the nursery, skidding to a halt inside. "Hello, Wisteria," he purred, settling down beside her. Licking her ears, he meowed, "They went to sleep?" That was unfortunate. He'd been wanting to see them.
One-eye chuckled, nudging Pikeflower's muzzle. "Aren't you going to eat it all?" he meowed, placing his tail on his mate's flank. "You need the strength, you know. Can't die on me, not quite yet." A purr rumbled in his throat to signify he was only joking. "But really, you do need the food more than me. I know the journey did a number on you.. I'm sorry about that." His voice grew quiet towards the end of his sentence, and he sighed. "I wish I could have been more of a help to you."
