Skystar - Female - Leader - With: Limpetstar - Feeling: Focused

Skystar motioned to another pair of cats, making sure Greypool saw her. She split off in the direction of Limpetstar, and watched as he fell with a stone-cold expression. "Hello?" She meowed, unsure of whether he needed help, he was clumsy, or just plain stupid. "Are you okay?" Skystar sat down, her tail laying over her own paws.

Greypool - Male - Medicine Cat - With: Duckwing - Feeling: Excited

Greypool watched Skystar's tail signal, and he bounded off to meet the new tom. "Hi!" He skidded to a halt, excited to meet another cat. This would be his first time talking to someone other than Skystar. "I'm Greypool!" The older tom knew not to get too friendly, but it didn't matter to him right now. Fifty moons of knowledge brought nothing.

Morningstar nodded. That was similar to how he'd become leader of Caveclan as well. "I see. Well welcome to the clans." The orange tabby looked her over, his amber gaze glinting. "Then is this your first gathering?"

The two she-cats sat together at the edge of the clearing to keep an eye on the apprentices. Mistpaw was almost a warrior so they weren't all that worried about her. Her mentor Chiveclaw had told them Mistpaw was ready to go to the gathering without him so Rowanfur and Dappleleaf focused their attention on the younger two.

Tigerpaw stared at Applepaw, surprise lighting his gaze. "You don't like swimming!? It's not that hard. It's one of the first things us apprentices are taught!"
Mistpaw nudged him gently. "Not every clan swims Tigerpaw." She looked up at the other apprentices. "Well it isn't so much a story as it is a short legend but Rippleshade told us why the trees change color. He said that the trees all used to be foxes. The foxes lived in our territory but Starclan cursed them for their evil works. They were changed into the very trees that make up our maple forest. Every leaffall, they try to undo the curse and their efforts turn the green leaves into different colors." Mistpaw told them.

"I don't like land hunting all that much either. The molly agreed. "Fishing is much more fun." She smiled, excitement flashing in her eyes. "Dappleleaf's a great mentor. She promised to teach me how to swim later." Poppypaw purred.

Sorrelstar was a bit too tired tonight to care much about the appearances, or rather the lack of them, that she usually took so much pride in. Tonight would have been one of making allies, or what was it that she had called them when everything was all well and good? Friends? The she-cat couldn't help but snort at her younger self's forced foolishness. So over the top. But with the death of her former deputy weighing of her mind, she didn't feel much like making merry or even putting up a semblance of such. Not to mention the pending problem of Barkknot. The Beechclan leader was going to have to watch how she acted around Jaystar if she wanted her daughter to live. Jaystar never did like my trickery. Probably felt threatened, huh. The she-cat allowed herself to contemplate this conundrum as she lept atop the leader's rock, her stance rather clearly aloof.

{Sorrelstar- Leader's Perch, Open}

"Now the two of you behave yourselves. It's your first gathering so make your father, mother, and I proud okay?" "Sure dad- we won't cause any ruckus! None at all!" Dunpond raised an amused eyebrow at his youngest daughter's promise. The ever-present mischievous twinkle in her eyes had not been dimmed at all be the solemnity of the night. Which was good, let the pair of them have their fun. "I'll watch her," Sandkit told his father seriously, as was his way. "Well maybe cause a bit of ruckus- you're only 'paws for so long. Go have fun." And with the playful flick of their father's tail dismissing them, the pair disappeared into the crowd, and Dunpond went to take his place beneath the leader's perch.

{Dunpond- Beneath Leader's Perch, Open}

"That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard," blurted out Sandpaw before he could think any better of his words, "Trees are plants and foxes are animals. No star is going to change th- ow!" Carppaw had whacked him so hard it stung and yet the tom still didn't seem to get the message. "Stop it," she whispered exasperatedly, "You're embarrassing me. Just stop it!" He stared blankly at his sister's face, trying to read the signs which clearly told everyone else she was trying very hard not to cry. His stomach twisted in a way he didn't understand and he stopped talking.

{Carppaw & Sandpaw- Applepaw, Russetpaw, Ivypaw, Mistpaw, Tigerpaw}

Pigeonpaw had decided to stick by Malloweyes for her first gathering since Asptail wouldn't take her. The elder harbored mixed feelings on this, on one paw she had ample time to drive a deeper wedge between the apprentice and her mentor, but on the other she was no longer free to do any converting. Cackling and plotting murders would certainly disillusion her little puppet. "It really is too bad Asptail couldn't find the time to spare on you. A first gathering really is a monument. Oh well, we'll have our own fun won't we?" Pigeonpaw nodded enthusiastically up at her idol, who's returning grin was especially patronizing. Besides Malloweyes, Sharkfang was restless. He kept sheathing and unsheathing his claws with great impatience. "Looking for her hmm?" "Of course." "Well tell her the good news once you find her, I have a little one to mind." Malloweyes dismissed her ally with a flick of her well-groomed tail and Sharkfang shot off readily.

{Malloweyes & Pigeonpaw- Open}

"Ladies," Sharkfang purred, sliding up towards the Soulclan she-cats, "Malloweyes is a bit indisposed kit-sitting. I'll suppose I'll have to do." He smirked and leaned up against Thistlethorn, resting his chin on her shoulder, and mused "Though of course there are some things I'm far better at than her. The grin he gave his fellow murderer spoke volumes but rather reluctantly his tone changed from flirty to business-like. "We did it. The river is finished and the last stages are in play. Malloweyes wanted to know how close you were to ready."

{Sharkfang- Nettlefoot & Thistlethorn}

"Honeyfur!" Momomoon rose to her paws as soon as she saw her friend, stepping towards her and nuzzling the medicine cat in greeting. Frostsong made an, "Oooh," noise but the she-cat just giggled and stuck her tongue out at him. "This is Frostsong! He's my best friend! Frostsong this is Honeyfur she's uh-" "The she-cat you were telling me about I presume?" The white tom had a mischievous grin on his muzzle, and while Momomoon flushed in protest she didn't actually mind.

Honeystar looked over as she saw Briarstar scramble over to the Speaker's Rock. "Oh, hi, Briarstar!" she said, feeling guilty that she hadn't noticed how late they were. "How is Thicketclan? Before you ask, Forestclan is doing great."

"Pretty good too," said Birchnose. "The prey has been running very well; we almost always catch something, although I'm worried about the coming of leafbare. I hope that no one gets sick in any clan."

Acornstream's ears flattened in embarrassment. "Whoops," he said with a chuckle. "Well, we have thirteen at last count, including me. I also have four kits!" he stated proudly. Indeed, he was proud of how quickly his four had been progressing. Applepaw had preferred to stay away from them, stating that he didn't like kits very much, but they seemed oddly attached to him. It was adorable.

Briarwhisker cracked a smile. "Yeah, they're pretty adorable and they've only just learned to talk." She had to think hard to remember what she did as a kit. "Well, I played with my siblings a lot, and with a ball called yarn. It's kind of like moss, except it comes apart into strings really easily."

"I used to play with my siblings too," said Dawnstorm. "Until I was kicked out, that is." He paused before continuing. "And I think that we're supposed to just talk to other cats. And then the leaders announce some stuff and we all go home."

"Only Acornstream--my mentor--is a really good swimmer and fisher," said Applepaw defensively. "We just have one river crossing the territory." When Mistpaw finished the story, he shivered reflexively. "That's weird but really cool!" he exclaimed. "We don't have anything like that yet, although Crowcloud's Stream is supposed to be good luck. It seems like everyone washes up there." He grinned at the joke. "Everyone was found near there. And most of the prey seems to like it."

Applepaw frowned when Carppaw hit her brother. What was going on there? "Well, you can never really prove it," he said to Sandpaw. "What if it's true but it happened seasons ago before any of us were born? For example, Honeystar tells us that Starclan itself led her to our territory. Can you prove it isn't true?"

"It may or may not be true but it's still really interesting." Tigerpaw pointed out. His belief in Starclan wavered, leaning on belief one day and then the next he'd decide they weren't real.

Sandpaw looked between his sister, who was shaking her head 'no', and Applepaw. His stomach was still tangled in knots but he could ignore the hurting mess if he just didn't look at Carppaw. "Well how can you prove it is? Of course Starclan isn't real." His sister gasped and glared at him in a way he had had never seen before. The fire behind the gaze made his fur burn and her tears didn't ease it any. He had messed up, even a tom as oblivious as he could tell. Carpppaw didn't say a word, just sniffled and charged off into the crowd. "Carppaw?" But it was too late, his sister had disappeared.

Stupid Sandpaw. Stupid Sandpaw! Tonight was supposed to have been fun! But then her brother had forced her to talk to cats when she didn't want to, and then opened up his stupid mouth and said all the wrong things. She had hit him and he still didn't get it and now she looked bad! She also felt horrible for how she treated him, but for the moment the sobbing she-cat was too devoted to her self-pity to spare time on her brother. Stupid Sandpaw!

Applepaw was shocked. While he was still new to the idea of Starclan, he accepted the idea that maybe someday, he'd see his friends and family again. And clanmates, of course. He couldn't blame Carppaw for storming off, but figured that it was best to leave her alone for now.

"But how can you prove that it isn't real?" he asked Sandpaw. "Starclan always grants our requests, and I know that had I not found Forestclan, I might have died out there. How can you prove that Starclan didn't help me to be in the right place at the right time?" Of course, it could have been a coincidence, but Applepaw hoped that it wasn't. At least it made for a good story.

"thats great news! new litters of kits always bring more warriors. our clan has a queen who'll kits are due very soon. she isn't here tonight but we hope that her litter will bring more joy to the clan." hawknose replied contently chatting with the mapleclan tom trying not to give away any secrets about his clan and trying not to be too friendly.
