"Yes, Nightstripe?" The she-cat was a bit surprised that Nightstripe was asking her something. Then she remebered the death of Eagleheart, and that Nightstripe was the new deputy. She shaked moss of her paws, and walked to the entrance of her den. "Come in, if you want." The leader invited the tom.

Nightstripe dips his head politely, walking into the den. The stone was cold under his paws, but the air was warm. He sits opposite Wolfstar--about a tail-length away. "Should we send out any patrols?" Nightstripe asks, looking at the she-cat. He kept his true feelings for her hidden well.

"Uhh yeah, we haven't marked the borders in ages... You already sent Acidrose and Shadowpaw on a hunting patrol, i heard, so, maybe we could do it together?'' The she-cat asked. She knew that if they were on patrol, camp was almost empty, but still she wanted to go on patrol, she didn't know what else to do. And still if they would go, there would be warriors left.

"That's true. Our borders are weak." Nightstripe mews. He was happy when Wolfstar suggested them going out together to restrengthen them. "Good idea--we can catch prey on the way back, too." He stands up, arching his back in a stretch.

"Let's go then!" The leader jumped up, and walked out of her den. She padded to the entrance, waiting for Nightstripe to lead the way.

"Alright!" Nightstripe smirks, and races past her like a black bullet. "I expect you to keep up!" He laughs, and disappears into the thick marshland. His paws moved soundlessly across the dark, sodden grass. Nightstripe felt as smooth as the breeze, dodging willow trees and jumping over fallen logs. He finally made it to the first part of the border, and turns around, looking for Wolfstar.

When Nightstripe ran off, she thought of pranking him. Wolfstar jumped in a tree, and followed Nightstripe to the border. When she saw him looing for her, she jumped out of her hidingplace, and said: ''Boo'' calmly. Hoping that the tom would be scared out of his fur.

Nightstripe jumps backwards and his black fur bristles. "Wolfstar! You scared me..." He laughs, smoothing the fur on his chest with his tongue. She had spooked him so easily. "I'll get you back someday." He smirks, unsheathing his claws playfully.

"That was why i did it!'' She grinned, playfully grabbing his tail. She graabed it not too hard, so it wouldn't hurt.

"You did a good job." Nightstripe laughs, rolling onto his back and kicking his legs out, much like a warrior would do on the battefield to get an enemy off them. He rolls over and stands up again, shaking the grass from his silky black fur. It was strange being on the border between the two territories--what if someone was watching them? He had a thought. "Let's be quick. If a cat from AmberClan sees us and realises ScarClan is missing its leader and deputy, they might attack camp."
