Moonshadow watched the shivering, smaller cat leave as she sat on the ground, completely calm once again. She looked at the tom with a neutral expression. "yes?" she asked when he turned towards her.

Hearthflame nodded at the answer, not wanting to admit was a little worried for Barkknot. With her body getting battered and bruised like this, she was weaker than everyone one else and could grow sick faster and die. He didn't want to keep wasting herbs on her anyway. He applied some Cobwebs to hold the poultice in place before he gazed over her one more time before turning on his paws. "How long can a cat go without food I winder..." He muttered out loud a bit harshly before he walked off with his herbs. Though that didn't leave the prisoner alone for long as Nettlefoot was soon found bounding into camp carrying a plump Squirrel in her jaws, Bouncepaw striding beside her with two mice in her jaws, looking proud in her catch due to her mentor's praise. The two split apart as Nettlefoot approached Barkknot, smiling through her eyes as she dropped the squirrel at the other molly's paws. "Hungry darling killer?" She asked sweetly, pushing the squirrel closer.

Momomoon | She-cat | Honeyfur

Momo visibly recoiled, tears stinging her eyes. She had only meant it in a teasing way and now Honeyfur was lurching around, hissing like the very act of being around the bobtail was painful. She took a step forwards and then several back. "I'm sorry? I didn't mean to upset you like this? Are you- are you alright?" The she-cat bit her lip, wanting to give the medicine cat a comforting nuzzle, though admittedly for more reasons than just comfort, but judging that such an action might just make Honeyfur lash out again and this time, at her. So instead Momo just stood there at an awkward impasse with the pretty she-cat that made it so hard to look away.

Barkknot | She-cat | Soulclan

Barkknot would really rather not find out how long she would last- starving to death sounded like one of the worst ways to go. Slowly shrinking and withering and finally becoming less than nothing. Well then you have nothing to fear. The she-cat managed a virtually silent, "Thank you," to the departing Hearthflame, though her heart was barely in it. She was about to return to her quiet mental beratings when Nettlefoot arrived. Barkknot visibly brightened at the sight of her visitor, and just as quickly recoiled at her words. "Do you have to call me that?" she asked mournfully, but the tantalizing scent of squirrel was dancing in her nostrils and the warrior wasted no more time bending down for a large bite.

"Aw! Why not? It's a cute little title. Darling killer~ Nettlefoot giggled, flicking her tail back and forth in amusement, watching as Barkknot ate. "Besides, it has a nicer ring to it than Beloved Murderer don't you think? That was Thistlethorn's idea but we both agreed Darling killer was cuter." Nettlefoot continued to speak and ramble on absent-mindedly, ignoring the looks of hate burning into Barkknot. The sisters never worried that someone would suspect something wrong with them being so chummy with their prisoner. It was and easy slip really. Everyone believed them to be too sweet for their own good, angels in the dull world who wanted to see the good in someone as demonic as Barkknot. Oh how they were wrong. They kept close eyes on Barkknot though every time the two sister's neared her, for if the prisoner decided to attack them, she'd be dead in an instant. Not that it was a problem. "So tell me Barkknot, how have you been the past few days?" She asked, just making small talk and waiting for Thistlethorn and Shiverpaw to return so the three of them could have a chat. Bouncepaw too of course.

The squirrel was scraps all too soon for Barkknot's taste, but she wasn't going to ask for more. Not that her stomach would have appreciated anything else being dumped into it given all the acrobatics it was preforming at Nettlefoot's words. "I know I'm a killer but do you have to remind me?" And do you have to make it sound so good? Barkknot immediately felt bad about protesting such a nickname, it wasn't the worst she had been given, and the sisters had always been good to her. Who was she to argue against the truth? The she-cat licked her chops nervously. "Sorry. I'm sounding ungrateful. Days have been...manageable. Thanks to you." Barkknot managed a little purr and a smile at the Soulclan she-cat, hoping her thankfulness shone through. "Umm..." There was something else Barkknot had been wanting to ask her friend, she just wasn't entirely sure how to phrase it. "Umm...so Cinderblaze kitted yes? How, uh, are they?"

Nettlefoot purred in amusement at Barkknot's disapproval of the nickname and quick apology afterwards, purely enjoying the slight bit of control she had over the molly. She groomed her chest a bit as Barkknot answered her question before grinning. "Oh that's wonderful. I'm glad you're managing as you say. I'm sure I have nothing to do with it. You're just that strong." She complimented, nuzzling Barkknot gently like a friend would, though to Nettlefoot it was more of hugging her favorite toy. "Oh? An interest in Soulclan life huh? How cute." Nettlefoot moved on to say. She was blissfully unaware of Barkknot's relationship with the newly kitted queen or that she was sister to the father of said kits. If she had, then Cinderblaze and Barkknot would have been in a world of torture~ Lucky for them, neither of the Shade Sisters were aware. "Ah, but she has. Four cute little furballs. Though one was too weak and died shortly after coming into the world. Poor Dewkit. Oh, but Cinderblaze isn't too upset but it, I guess she knows it was Starclan's sign of punishment. Meh. But otherwise, Applekit, Beechkit, and Cloverkit are all happy and healthy as can be." She concluded her report proudly, humming slightly. "If I'm right though, the younger kits Poppykit, Drizzlekit, and Cinder's three are coming out to play today. Keep your claws to yourself ok~" She teased.

Barkknot flushed at the compliment, though she was sure it was utterly untrue. It was nice to hear kind words, such a rarity in the Soulclan camp- and to be touched! To be nuzzled by another cat! The she-cat never really remembered how desprate she was for comfort until she got a fleeting glimpse of it. She gave a halting purr which gradually increased and then died down with the news. "Poor Dewkit," Barkknot echoed. Asptail would be heartbroken to hear of one of his kits' deaths. No. He would be heartbroken to even know he has kits. Do you still see her brother? Do you still talk? Do you ask her how I've been? do you worry? Her train of thought trailed off as Nettlefoot's mew pierced her ears once more. "They are? they will?" Barkknot lifted herself unsteadily onto her haunches to get a better glimpse of the nursery, which was as far from her as it could be. The she-cat practically toppled over as her muscles protested and she lowered herself, sticking out one paw to catch her tumble. The impact extended her claws and she regarded them balefully before retracting. "I will," she promised seriously.

The Shade cat was slightly suspicious over Barkknot's interest in kits and why looked to the nursery in her weak state. But it wasn't something worth milling over. She reached out a paw and pat Barkknot on the head with a mother like smile that still held her proud air of kit-ness. "Good girl. I'm sure you will be nice to the kittens." The tiny sound of tiny feet could be heard approaching the nursery's entrance before the head of Poppykit peeked out first before she was nudged out by her mother Sorrelwhisper. The one by one, the youngest kits filed out of the nursery excitedly. At the same time, Thistlethorn returned to camp with Shiverpaw, making her sister beam with excitement at seeing her sister. "Thistlethorn never misses a cue it seems. I'm off Barkknot. Be a good little murderer and I may let you go for a walk tomorrow. Play nice hun~" She purred before running off to catch up with her sister, Bouncepaw bounding over happily to join them before they all disappeared out of camp once more.

((I sort of had this thing where Cinderblaze doesn't know that Barkknot is in camp since she confined herself to the nursery after the threat from the Shade Sisters frightened her so she'll be more willing to talk with Barkknot rather than everyone else))

A walk! Barkknot was so excited at the concept of finally getting out of the cave and away from the stares that she didn't even care what Nettlefoot called her. The nickname might even grow on her so long as the she-cat kept talking to her, who knew? "Yes! Okay, see you soon! Thank you!" The first flicker of hope she had felt in a long time had made the prisoner giddy with notions of what she could do. I could see Beechclan again! Or Aspenclan and maybe catch a wisp of Tanglestep! Or run away- no! No you're going to be a...a good little murderer. The sisters are doing a good thing for you. Despite her fears of running off, Barkknot couldn't help the grin on her muzzle as she watched her protector go, though admittedly it was coupled with dread at being left alone again. And that grin just grew wider as the kits tumbled from their nursery. She could guess which ones were Cinderblaze's and Asptail's- the littlest ones. They were just so cute and small! They'd break sooo easily. No! Stop that! Go away! Go where little murderer? I'm you.

Though she was the second youngest of the newest litter, Beechkit was the next out of the nursery after Poppykit, pouncing on Sorrelwhisper's tail with tiny, harmless claws. "Ha! Gotcha!" She purred, making Sorrelwhisper chuckled softly before lifting her tail up. Beechkit hung on but ultimately fell down after loosing her grip. But she still grinned, overall excited to be out and about. "You're funny." Poppykit laughed, making Beechkit's grin all the wider. "Yea right. Beechkit doesn't have a funny bone in her body!" Applekit scoffed playfully as she stepped out with Drizzlekit, who's eyes widened at the large camp they lived in. Beechkit was quick on her paws, ready with her witty retaliation but their brother beat her to it as he emerged from the nursery. "Actually she does, we all do. Humorously so, it's called the humerus." The four kits looked at tom, confused and surprised he would even know such things at two moons, even Sorrelwhisper was a little surprised. But when Cloverkit noticed the attention he looked down to his paws shyly, not really a fan of the attention. ""T-That's what Hearthflame says anyway.. Silverkit told me..."
In the end it was Beechkit who broke the awkward silence with her wild laughter filling the air. "Haha! I get it! Humerus! Haha! Its a funny kind of bone! It's funny no?" "My siblings are weird." Applekit sighed, looking up to Starclan as if asking them why her brother was a shy nerd and her sister was wild hyena. "That's not nice Applekit. Their your family. Be nice." Came Cinderblaze's voice as she emerged slowly from the nursery, still a little sore from kitting but still looking full of energy. "I was being nice Mama. That's the nicest it's gonna get with these two." She huffed, sticking her tongue out at the still laughing Beechkit, Poppykit only fueling her giggling fit by adding on laughter of his owner. Cinderblaze could only roll her eyes as Applekit reminded her so much of Asptail already. "What am I going to do with you three?" She questioned outloud, giving Cloverkit a lick on his head before she rolled out a moss ball for the kits. The instant she hit it, they were all after it like moths to a flame, making both the queens smile.
Cinderblaze would have been content watching them but her attention was grabbed by a familiar figure on the other side of camp looking her way. She squinted her eyes a bit at the cat who seemed to be in a dip of sorts but then her eyes shone like stars as she recognized who it was. After getting Sorrelwhisper's ok to watch the kits, she ran over the best she could to great her sister-in-law. "Barkknot it's been moons! What are you doing here? Why do you look so beat up? How's it going? How's Asptail?" She asked her questions in rapid succession as she nuzzled Barkknot affectionately, purring madly.
