Alexa smiled. She took the dress and started walking toward the door.

Melody waved the tailor goodbye and left the shop with Alexa, falling into a long bit of conspiratorial laughter once outside. "Oh," she said, "That was rich! Did you see the look on her face when I said the words 'seventy' 'gold' and 'crowns' in the same sentence? Goodness, I thought she might explode!"

Alexa laughed. "I'm surprised I didnt ruin it." She said.

Melody looked up at the taller girl, surprised. "Why, what are you talking about? The way I see it, you're an actress born!" She held up the dress and grinned. "Now, let's get you into this. You need to see what I mean by having fun. Without getting into a barfight, of course- those are far too messy."

Sonja strolled out to join Rose by the wall, pulling the hood up on her cloak. "He wasn't there," she murmured. "Where's Ingo hiding? We need to move quickly- if he's not here..."

"They aren't messy." Alexa defended. She didnt really like the dress much, but she would wear it if it pleased Melody.

"Yes they are, darling," said Melody dramaticallym fanning herself. "Especially for an actress- oh, goodness, they are. Blood, and fighting. Hmm, and it isn't really fair to them, is it? Six drunkards against one well-armed pirate..." She slowed, then gripped Alexa's wrist again and pulled her towards a building on her left. "Here," she said. "It's just a small inn- you can probably change in one of the rooms."

Ingo was crouched on top of a pile of boxes. She heard her name and jumped off, her brown clothes had been hiding her until she moved. She walked over to Sonja, she almost crept up on them, she didn't make a sound and wasn't noticed.

Sonja's expression was neutral, but her eyes had widened and her pupils had become slitted with fear, so that she looked more frighteningly catlike than ever. "Ingo, Rose," she said quietly, a low panic in her voice, "William wasn't in the pub. He might be at the Raven's Nest- we need to hurry. Now!" She turned and, cloak flapping, began striding quickly down the street, blond ponytail fanning out over her tanned shoulders.

Alexa nodded. She went into one of the rooms and put on the dress. She put her hair back, then looked in a mirror. She laughed, she looked suuuuuper stupid. "I hate dresses." She said quietly. The dress didnt hide the stink, but she didnt care.

Melody knocked on the door, then opened it. She grinned, and said, "Alexa, you look wonderful! You still smell like a bilgerat, but at least you look nice." The petite, red-haired girl swept across the floor in her white summer dress and began tugging at Alexa's clothing, here and there, making sure it looked just right. Melody pulled a ribbon from her pocket and tied Alexa's hair up with a bow, then grinned. "You look amazing!"
