Kyanos didn't care, she could stay or go. He felt he was about to pass out any way, and he wanted to. His belly burned and stung, and the salt of his sweat made is worse

Ateara woke to mist curling through the forest. She rose and shook herself.
The air was crisp and fresh as she trotted through the woods. She leapt on to an overhanging ledge of granite and howled, her beautiful melody weaving throughout both the forest and the valley. Her song over, she scrambled down and lapped up water from the river.
