He laughed, "Maybe not but I still surprised you!" He looked into his brothers blind eye and remembered the accident. "I bet you'll be the best fighter out of all of us! I saw what you did to those rats during the attack!"

Pebblekit knew it was true, his brother had surprised him."Well, you did a good job!"he agreed with a small nod, but listened as his brother spoke again."I hope I can be a great fighter, but im not sure. Adderkit has her heart set on best fighter."

Her ears perked up as she herd her brothers talking. She dipped her head to Fernkit and Thawkit before bounding over to her siblings. "What are you guys talking about?' She meowed her tail lashing from side to side.

Pebblekit didn't want to tell his sister their plan. If he did then she may rush and attempt to make the first catch."We were talking about being great warriors!"he answered, which wasn't a lie. That was part of the conversation between him and Ebonykit.

The tom looked ahead of them, scanning the forest. "Sure that sounds interesting," He replied nuzzling her shoulder, "But I may have to run to the border when we are close on our walk - I know of a small herb patch that can help your wounds." Badger licked down a tuft of his black fur then began to walk, his stomach growling with hunger.

ThawKit placed a paw forward and dragged the prey towards him slightly, taking a large mouthful - As he finished chewing he looked at AdderKit who seamed bright-eyed from her experience. "I think she liked her first bite of prey," He muffled to FernKit as he bent down to take another bite, watching AdderKit bound away. The tom-kit smiled when saw AdderKit's siblings further away, watching the group with interest. "Would they like some prey?" He asked his own sister.

Before ThawKit could take a second mouthful FernKit leant in and took her bite, glaring at her brother with cold eyes. "You do realise that even though you're hungry, I still need to eat!" She snapped playfully. When she'd finished her mouthful she pushed the prey back towards the tom-kit. FernKit smiled to AdderKit's siblings that were in the distance, "Maybe we should offer them some," She said to her brother.

The she-cat glared at the three small kits that shared the warm piece of prey, "I assume that their mother would want to see them take their first bite of prey," She grumbled to the two kits with an irritated tone, "At least one of her kits." SunTail's amber eyes burned into FernKit's pelt and she could sense the sudden tension in the air.

The queen padded from the den. "Fernkit, Thawkit!" She purred bounding over to them. "You're six moons now so I think it's about time you were apprentices. If you like I can go talk to sandstar about who should mentor you?" Her eyes widened as she caught a glimpse of the scar on Fernkit's back. But she decided not to ask her about it, it seemed to be healing well and there was nothing to worry about... I should have been there to help her...

"O-o-okay!" He stuttered as SilverWhisper approached them. The tom flicked his tail for FernKit to follow him closer to the queen to get further away from SunTail, he could still feel her amber eyes burning into his pelt. ThawKit sat down and briefly gazed over to the medicine den, a glum look spreading across his face. "I really wanted to be a medicine cat," He sighed, "But MoonPaw's the apprentice right now."

"Lighten up!" She chirped nipped her brother's tail, "At least we'll get to be apprentices!" FernKit smiled at SilverWhisper - she had been a great foster mother to them and she would appreciate the care all of her life. The siamese she-kit shuffled closer to the queen and let out a snort of laughter, "Please don't let SunTail be my mentor though, She's so gloomy!"
