He whirled around as he heard Mapleclaw leapt towards his cousin. His eyes widened as he watched his mate slaughtered his own cousin. "How dare you!" He yowled in pain as he hurried to his cousin, placing his head on her blood stained pelt and slowly licked the blood away from her pelt. "Shhh, don't worry, you're safe." He murmured and groomed the she-cat as a single drop of tear made its way down his cheek. He heard her whimper in pain and held her closer to him. "No fear, bloody. No one can hurt you now." He made sure he got all the blood from her pelt and slowly nuzzled his dying cousin. "You're safe. Don't you dare die on me now! Hang on there, I'll get you help!" He yowled in pain as he closed his eyes, hiding his emotions. The moment he reopened his eyes, his eyes now returned to its emotionless and outraged state. He said nothing but swiftly picked up his cousin. "Littlepaw, Redhawk, let's get out of here." He said before padding towards the entrace towards the clan territories. He turned around and saw a few Dark Forest cats following him, their eyes shining bright with admiration and obedience. "All of you come with me," he smiled softly and led the troop away from the wrath of his former mate. "Flamepaw," he yowled, knowing the medicine cat apprentice would be useful in treating his cousin. "I need you to do me a favour." He mewed softly and laid his cousin on the ground, and stared at the young apprentice. "I'm sorry for your mentor. It was my former mate."

The warrior tried to fight back, but as she flipped around, the she-cat had gotten a hold of her stomache and sliced her way down. "Appleshade..." she said weakly as he ran towards her and tried to clean the blood from her wounds. "I'm cold..." she whispered hoarsely as she struggled to breath with her wound. She then gently leaned forward and tried her best to groom her cousin with the last bit of energy she'd got in her. "Shadey..." she felt herself floating away as she managed to swipe a paw over her cousin's face and brushed his long bane away from his eyes and gently touched her nose with his wet nose. "Sing for me?" She whispered as her cousin nodded and picked her up, humming. You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy when skies are grey. You'll never know how, how much I love you. She struggled to breathe and whispered the last verse softly before she fade into unconsciousness. "Please don't take..." my sunshine away

His eyes widened in disbelief as the dark forest warrior was laid before him. "So much blood..." he gasped before quickly compressing cobwebs on his wounds. "Quick, grab some more!" He yelled desperately as he got more cobwebs on the wound, trying to stop the bleeding. Starclan please save her. Even though she had been bad in the past few decades, it was certain that she loved her cousin more than anything else in the world. And her cousin loved her more than he ever loved his mate. She is everything Appleshade've got. So please don't let her die. She deserves to live.
