Info for Kalon contest

Ibalend is the desert kingdom. It is the warmest and most difficult to reach of all of the kingdoms but its people are quite adapted to the environment. It is very much based of ancient Egypt design wise but history wise quite different.

It was one of the first to be inhabited but didn't really become a "kingdom" until much later. It is one of the largest but the population is quite small for how large it is. It was founded by the ancestors of Nevra and it has always been a more drama filled nation. It is known for having the most controversial leaders with the strangest personal lives of any of the kingdoms which may put a bad taste in some mouthes.
A leader who most would like to forget is one no one really knows the identity of but he caused great pain. He was corrupt from the start, he'd kill anyone who opposed him or torture them greatly until they agreed to work with him. He'd find creative ways to kill rather than just beheading, he'd burn some alive or maybe cut their flesh and wait until they bled to death slowly. He joined forces with the other not so formed kingdoms at the time and waged war on the others to gain territory and power. His personal life tells an even more gruesome tale if you can believe it. Never the less he lost, not without severely weakening all of them of course, and vowed his descendants would return and finish what he started. It is true they did return, but not as Ibalend royals. Historians believe that Ledell, the queen who started the second great war, was a close relative to him.
Nevra is one example of the stranger rulers they have come to be known for. He was a promising prince when he lived at the palace, he could always do what was right when needed. Most princes were like this of course, but unlike them his fall was much sooner. Ibalenians are known for being impulsive and he was quite that. He vanished one day, most assumed he had run away, and was presumed dead. His father was on the verge of death and the kingdom was in chaos. Rania had been jailed 5 years earlier for stealing and caught herself a train away. She bumped into Nevra and they returned back. It is still unclear to most why he left but it was a great day when he returned. Around this time the sky kingdom, Edoilia, had declared war on them. Rilaven and Miratlan had already started fighting them but they worried they would be taken over because of their lack of a leader. With the prince, and now king, returned they joined in the war followed by Vanhory. They lost greatly but so did Edoilia. The four leaders came together to plan another attack to finish off Edoilia but it was called off when news came of the death of their queen. Though he isn't very weird on the surface what the public doesn't know dives into much stranger territory.

Ibalend is also known for its customs. It is tradition that the eldest male is the one who takes the throne but if their is no males willing to the female who is deemed best for the position takes it. It is also tradition the heir wheres a gold neck piece until they are crowned to show they are worthy of the position. It is heavy often stretching the neck but in recent days only an optional piece.
It is also common to feed visitors a meal of bugs and berries to welcome them which some find more disgusting than others.
Since food is rather scarce in the desert most of the citizens are skinnier than normal and find meals like that delightful.
It is generally frowned upon to wear brightly colored clothing and items as most prefer a more dulled look to it. The most important buildings are made of clays and stones while normal class ones are often made out of what ever is available. Fountains are quite common as below the sand dunes lays a large water system that they like to use to decorate the lands. You'll rarely catch one of them swimming in the lakes though, it is generally thought of as unsanitary to swim in those waters as you are not sure what is in them.

Miratlan is a kingdom located under the mountains on the border of Vanhory. It is a network of complicated caves and tunnels that are easy to get lost in.

They are generally thought of as more peaceful as they rarely leave the safety of below ground. They have very well adapted to the dark and are often called "mole people" because of their expert digging and living underground.

Jasmine - a skilled warrior/tracker thingy mabober

* just wants love and will help anyone just to help them tbh

Nevra - a rebelous prince turned king

* actually hates everyone
* low-key probably wants to invade an conqure the kingdoms

Rania - a thief locked up for her sins but married into the royal family
* nevra but female tbh
* only shows affection to nevra and kits
* probably intimdating

Thema - first daughter and heir to the throne and horrible queen
* legit horrible queen like how is she not dead yet
* just wants to have a good time
* low-key crazy high-key will kill ur frinds and family to remind you of her love

Odessa - your local friendly miner
* older than the kingdoms tbh how is she not dead
* a miner with snark
* knows a lot and by a lot i mean she probably knows god himself

Rossa - a queen who lives a double life
* the actual prettiest kalon in the land
* scares everyone cause shes so BUFF
* manages two kids, a kingdom, and a celebrity life all at once 100% mom goals

Roxanne - dancer who is in to many love triangles
* hopless romantic tbh
* has never sinned and breaths pure
* will kick ur ass if you lay a hand on her

eva - heir to the throne
* low-key crazy and depressed
* the sweet from roxanne and the ass kick from rossa
* spends less time in the kingdom than rossa tbh

Lynn - a princess merchant
* sells so much weird crap
* probably owns your grandmas teeth
* has connections

Tatsu - wyvern rider who is weird
* loves weird animals omg
* rides and trains dragons
* probally burns down villiages fo fun

Arianna - a friendly trader
* legit rlly old like odessa
* more normal stuff unlike lynn
* can probably help you

apollyon - unlucky healer and king
