Oakpaw got up from laying down in the sun, and went out to go hunt. I want to help this clan out, and I'm ready to defend it with my life! He thought in his head, pumping himself up for hopefully, a successful hunt. He jogged, light on his paws making the least noise possible you can with a jog. He slowed down as he approached the part of the forest where there always was prey. He spotted a squirrel in a tree, without even having to scent it out. Time to put what Maplepaw taught me to work!He thought to himself. He quickly and silently climbed up the tree, approaching the branch the squirrel was on. He carefully stepped onto the branch, making no noise. He stalked the squirrel further, but he wobbled the branch. The squirrel jumped to the other tree, and sat there eating the nut he had found. He eyed the squirrel. Well, I might as well try... I'm a mouse brain for doing this. He quickly thought to himself, but he pushed it to the back of his mind. He went into a hunters crouch, and walked to the end of the branch. The squirrel obviously thought he wasn't going to go for him! The squirrel was wrong. He leaped forward, pushing off his very powerful haunches, and landed right on the squirrel, killing it. He happily picked up his prey and headed back down the tree. "That was amazing!" He said to himself as he raced down the tree, jumping and twisting in the air to land on his paws. He headed off to camp to drop off his catch. He couldn't wait to tell his mentor later! He quickly dropped off the squirrel, and proceed to bathe in the sun.

She growled and turned around, what was the point of coming over to her if he was just going to run off again. She turned and stalked away.

Scarletblaze noticed Maplepaw angry. "Are you ok Maplepaw? Ugh, Hollypaw always running off! Sorry, he's just calming himself down." The queen purred.

"It's totally fine!" he purred. He touched the tip of his tail to his nose, playfully. "I just brought back a squirrel I caught from a tree." He said, trying to act casual an not show how proud and excited he was. "So, what are you up too?" He asked, looking at Hollypaw.
