Harrierpelt was quite amused by her reaction to his joke. "I always thought your mind's health just as important as your body's. Imagine something stupid to do and don't do it, and you're proving your impulse control is alright." He suppressed a little snort of laughter himself, as he imagined actually doing what he'd suggested just before. It would be pretty entertaining. But it was definitely a stupid thing to do... except maybe with young kits. They might find it funny, too. Doing that might even, one day, help him work out if he'd be happy for any given kit to eventually become his apprentice (which was always going to be a scary thought, Harrierpelt was sure); if they were consistently excited by prophecies, even ones he introduced as being fake, and kept trying to work them out, that had to be a good thing from a future medicine cat.
Harrierpelt perked a bit at her direction, surprised at just how close that seemed to Gustclan. He lifted up his paw, and pointed in a direction just a little bit north of where she had pointed. "We're just that way, a couple of miles, too." The description of the land even seemed pretty similar. He wouldn't be surprised if there were only a few clans between where they were, maybe just one, even! Having a friend that close-by would be brilliant, he was sure. It could be mutually beneficial to their whole clans as well, as it should be simple for each of them to access the other for help- sharing herbs if there was a shortage of something, sharing ideas of how to cure things, maybe help interpret actual prophecies eventually, even... if they had a really tricky patient, they might be able to work together and make it less difficult, somehow.

minnowstep looked beside her to see another med cat trying to converse with her. she smiled, trying to be polite, "no, I don't we have ever met." my name is minnowstep, minnowstep of scorchclan. its nice to meet you, err willowcloud." minnowstep twitched her tail trying o think of something to maybe talk about for a while. "this is my first medicine cat gathering, is it yours?"

I'm excitement, Brackenflower squeaked. "We might even be neighbours!" she exclaimed, her voice full of hope. Wrenclan had only found Darktree on the east border, so for all they knew there were clans all around them! Maybe even Gustclan. It would make sense, what with the terrain similarities and the distance from the moonpool. She looked at it, remembering the first time she saw it when she was summoned by Starclan. It was always so beautiful. Her eyes were full of wonder as she gazed at it, until he tore her eyes away. "It's wonderful, isn't it?" She said, cocking her head towards the pool.

Ferretclaw nodded, his gaze thoughtful. If Morningstar was going to try and catch up, he'd need to be fast. Glancing around his patrol, his gaze fixed on the fastest of them, Willowpaw. "Go Willowpaw." He ordered the apprentice. "Tell Morningstar that Tumbleclan is leaving and tell him the route they're using and explain that we need to try and catch up as soon as possible." With a nod, Willowpaw darted off, heading deeper into Caveclan territory towards camp. Ferretclaw looked at Addercloud quietly. "Even so, Sedgetail belongs with Caveclan where she's among her friends and family."

Sedgetail glanced over as Smokefur and Burrwhisker approached. The silver tabby narrowed her eyes, watching Smokefur pad off a few moments later. "What did Smokefur want?" She asked Burrwhisker. She paused as he spoke again, her green eyes fixed intently on Burrwhisker. "Forgive you?" Sedgetail blinked quietly at him. "You haven't even explained to me why you did this."

Watching the young apprentice sprinting over the hills and moors reminded Addercloud so painfully of her dead son, who loved to sprint and dart about the camp. It was a jarring comparison that steeled Addercloud's resolution to help the Caveclanners get their clanmate back. Nodding, the tabby turned to Ferretclaw. ''I understand.'' She replied. ''But hurry.'' Addercloud warned.

Burrwhisker did not reply to her inquiry about Smokefur. He didn't see it helping her in any way and he didn't want Sedgetail's sympathy, particularly when she was in an even worse situation then he. But he did reply to her second inquiry. ''For your being a prisoner, for the fact I'm just leaving you here, for a lot of things, Sedgetail.'' Burrwhisker replied sorrowfully. ''Isn't it an obvious thing to apologize for?''

Ferretclaw followed her gaze, watching as Willowpaw disappeared among the forest. "Willowpaw's fast." He murmured, "She'll make it back rather quickly." Harespring turned to Addercloud, his eyes narrowing. He knew it wasn't her fault that Sedgetail was prisoner but he still harbored a flash of resentment against her. Still, the tom tried to supress his anger. Morningstar would get Sagestar to let her go. He was sure of it. "You should get back to your clanmates. If you get back to your clanmates around the time we do, they might be suspicious." Ferretclaw warned.

Sedgetail blinked at him, hurt glimmering in her eyes. "You wouldn't have to apologize if you hadn't told me anything." She pointed out. "Why'd you do it? I could be safe among my clanmates right now instead of wondering why this happened."

Harrierpelt smiled widely, and nodded. It sounded like they probably would be, and the enthusiasm she showed at that made it clear that they'd both see it as a good thing if they were. He'd have to do a covert scout around the borders to see at some point on one of his next searches for herbs and medicine. It would be pretty clear he didn't intend any harm if he came alone as a medicine cat.
Harrierpelt looked into the water as Brackenflower did, and kept looking after she'd turned to ask him a question. "Before coming here, I thought water was just, well, water, and Starclan chose this pool because it was convenient, not because of anything special. But you're right. They definitely chose it for a reason." It seemed to be more than just water. A lot of the water at the lake shore near Gustclan had plants growing out of it, and swirling eddies of dirt, but the moonpool was like a perfectly clear mirror, better than any other water could ever be.

After the stress of having to deal with two wounded cats - one heavily wounded, Appleheart felt the need to take a walk. Not herb hunting or anything in particular, he just needed to get out, needed to get some fresh air. Even though he'd been a full medicine cat for a while now, that had strangely been the first time he had to care for injured cats, and the pressure of it all was stressing him out. He was upset with himself for it and knew he had to get over it soon. For some reason his paws took him to the EchoClan border. The medicine cat gazed hopefully out at their territory, knowing that talking to Brindlecloud would make him feel better.

~Many Voices Crying Out As One~

Brindlecloud had her head low as she sniffed through the grass, searching for a certain herb. The dilute calico paused in her search, tilting her head back to look up at the mountain. The normally cheerful she-cat had changed since the rogue attack on Echoclan nearly half a moon ago. She use to be the first to smile or crack a joke at something, but now she had started keeping her comments and smiles to herself.

Appleheart

Brindlecloud turned her head when his scent washed faintly over her.

What's he doing here?

She turned and hurried in the direction that the scent was coming from, visibly relaxing when she caught sight of the Leafclan medicine cat. "Appleheart!"

At the sight of the EchoClan medicine cat, Appleheart smiled and let out a faint sigh of relief before bounding up to her and touching his nose to hers. "Hello, Brindlecloud," he purred. How delighted he was to see her. Whenever he was with her, he felt he could just relax and be himself and not have to worry about the current goings-on in the Clan.
