If they could write a letter to their past self, what would it say:
Dear Young Graham,
I'm not really sure why I'm writing this. It just...doesn't make sense, ya'know? The past is the past, and you'll never read this. I'll never read this...huh, I guess I kinda see young me as a different kalon. Maybe that will help me write this. Well, here I go...
The move is going to be okay. I know it's scary, but trust me, you'll be fine, this time and the next. You're going to make new friends and hey, the fresh start was actually good for you! I don't want to spoil the future for you, but some pretty cool stuff happened that never would have happened if we didn't move. So, hey, that's cool, right? Chin up, buddy - you got through it. Psst, pester your parents for a puppy - I didn't do that until the second move, and they caved pretty quickly when I gave them puppy dog eyes and said 'I'll need a friend to get through this...'
Also, join theater! I waited until high school and it's great, I wish I had done it earlier. Heck, maybe you could even be an actor. Maybe I could be an actor...no, college thoughts be gone! This is a carefree letter.
I guess that's a sign I should stop writing. I'm not really sure where I'm going to put this...the mailbox? My closet? I guess I'll find a place.

Workshop Three - Writing Prompt

Prompt: graham has a bit of a trust problem, so he doesn't necessarily have a best friend, but rooney is probably his closest friend. she is always helping him with his dating troubles, and he tries to be there for her whenever he can. he likes to "help" her with writing her books, but he's typically not very helpful especially when he tries to make everything gay. they don't fight much, but when they do, he's always quick to apologize after re-evaluating the situation. he would risk a lot for her, and he likes to think she would do the same.

Workshop Three - Day One Exercise

Has your kalon ever met their grandparents? If so, what do they think of them? Caspian has actually never met his grandparents!
What is your kalon's relationship with their parents? Caspian has a rough relationship with his parents and doesn't really interact with them at all past minimal greeting at family gatherings or simple cards around holidays.
Do they have any siblings? Are they blood related or adopted? Caspian has a much older sister who is blood related, but doesn't actually exist in the kalon world, she's just for world building.
Does your kalon have children? Do they/did they ever want to have kits? No, but he hopes to someday! He wants to learn from his parents' mistakes when he does.
Which family member is your kalon closest to? Why? While Caspian isn't really close to any of his family, he's probably closest to his older sister.
Is there a family member your kalon wishes they could know better? Who is it? Caspian wishes he knew his sister in law better. Unfortunately, after his sister got married, she started to grow more distant so he didn't see her wife much after that, when they used to hang out quite a bit (along with his sister) during his parents' divorce.

Who is your kalon's enemy/least favorite person? How did they come to feel this way about them? while caspian doesn't necessarily hate anyone, he isn't very fond of his parents and prefers not to interact with them. he doesn't really have any enemies, so they might be his least favorite kalons.

Besides their best friend, who else is your kalon friends with? parson and caspian!
What qualities does your kalon look for in a friend? friendly, nonjudgmental, chill
What qualities does your kalon dislike in a friend? judgmental, high-strung, rude
Would they risk their life to save a friend? A stranger? he might be willing to risk his life for a friend, and maybe even a stranger -- it would depend on the situation.
Is it easy or hard to earn their trust? Why? it's fairly easy to gain caspian's trust, as he's never really been seriously betrayed so he doesn't feel an urge to protect himself.

Workshop Three - Day Four Exercise

Describe their pet/companion: while he doesn't have the time or money for a pet right now, caspian used to own a golden retriever named lucky. he was a pretty average looking golden retriever with a bright green collar. he lived for about eleven years, from the time when caspian was six until he was seventeen. he was his closest friend throughout his parent's divorce, and he adopted him shortly after his sister moved out because his parents were worried he would get bored without his sister.
How did they meet their pet/companion?: caspian let out a bored sigh as he sat in the car heading towards the shelter. his parents had promised him a new best friend, but he wasn't so sure - who could replace his sister? besides, he barely knew anything about dogs. when they reached the shelter, he hopped out and walked in, his gaze falling on all the dogs in cages. he flinched as one barked loudly at him. "i don't want a dog," he muttered as his parents walked in and began to talk to some lady with a nametag. he glared at her. she ignored him.
his mom handed him a leash. at the end of it was a small black dog with long fur. it yapped at him. "i don't want a dog," he repeated a little louder. his mom tussled his hair and told him of course he did. the dog got put back in the cage.
a big one this time. it yanked hard, pulling caspian straight to the ground as it fled, the worker lady instantly starting to chase it. with a bitter chuckle, he rubbed his scraped elbow. "i don't want a dog," he told his dad. "try this one," his dad said, pointing at a skinny lab with puppies squirming by her stomach. he patted her head gently, but she just flopped her head down and ignored him.
this time, caspian was done. "I DON'T WANT A-" he paused as he saw a golden retriever puppy staring at him. as they made eye contact, it whined softly. "dog."
he slowly moved towards it, reaching his hand into the cage. the dog gave it one sniff, then gave him a huge lick on his palm. with a genuine laugh, caspian scratched behind his ears. as he pulled his hand back out, the dog stuck his paw through, and caspian gently grasped it.
" i want this dog."
