Prompt: Kara and Steven have had quite an adventure being where they are now. From their troubled beginnings to a now slightly rocky yet plain road, it is obvious these two were meant to be, one never abandoning the other in times of stress. While at first Kara kept up his life long facade in front of Steven, he came to learn that Steven really didn't care whether or not he was cool, but rather, the fact that he was such a good person within. Nowadays, Kara is still getting used to being around Steven's natural air of 'cool'.

Workshop Three - Day One Exercise

Kalon: Sasha

Has your kalon ever met their grandparents? If so, what do they think of them?
Sasha only has a very faint memory of meeting her grandparents. They were her mother's, and they were kind, gentle people, her grandmother being very protective of her. She wishes she had the chance to know them better, as she heard they were wonderful.

What is your kalon's relationship with their parents?
Sasha has even fainter memories of her mother, a loud woman who loved to play. Sasha knew her father best, and they were together nearly always until his passing.

Do they have any siblings? Are they blood related or adopted?
Sasha was an only child, but has many 'sisters' in the streets of Saint Petersburg.

Does your kalon have children? Do they/did they ever want to have kits?
Sasha has three kits, two boys and a girl. She adores her eldest son best, but loves them all despite that fact. She'd always wanted kits, but there was a time in her life where she felt she could never give them a good home. Married to a rich mobster, however, helped.

Which family member is your kalon closest to? Why?
Sasha was once closest to her father, and she still feels their bond can't be trumped by any other. Francis, however, is a close second! His charm and gentle, genuine love makes her feel incredibly blessed.

Is there a family member your kalon wishes they could know better? Who is it?
Her mother. Sasha always asks questions to herself, wondering how they could be alike, how they were family. Who is this woman in these pictures? That's what Sasha wants to know.

Who is your kalon's enemy/least favorite person? How did they come to feel this way about them?
Kara casually dislikes Xavier. He feels he's... way too incredibly cool. It's petty, but Kara's placed himself on the imaginary throne of 'coolness', and to think there exists a kalon who can override that from personality alone? The competition begins...

Besides their best friend, who else is your kalon friends with?
Russel's friends with Paul. They like to play video games together, especially Tabletop Simulator to mess around.

What qualities does your kalon look for in a friend?
Russel likes finding friends naturally, so anybody who doesn't try to force a friendship is ok in his book. He likes those who have a sort of cheeriness to them that doesn't feel overwhelming, something to balance his usual sullen feel of life.

What qualities does your kalon dislike in a friend?
Forcefulness and lying. He can let these two slide, but when it becomes too much, it is too much. Why would they want to be friends with him if they're not going to act like one?

Would they risk their life to save a friend? A stranger?
A friend, of course- to think someone could deal with his presence and act kindly would warrant his protection. A stranger, however, would be situational. If he can, he can, if not, then not. If that stranger has a connection to a friend, though, it's the same friend-wise.

Is it easy or hard to earn their trust? Why?
Russel is a bit wary about indulging his private life to others, to the point that practically no one knows about it. Just another kalon named Russel, plain as the eye can see. He'll play video games with you, sure, but he won't go out with you. It's only if he's known you for a year or since childhood will he trust you entirely, but it's not like he'll ignore you.

Workshop Three - Day Four Exercise

Describe their pet/companion:
A homely red ear slider named Snippy. Despite lazily basking in the sun or sleepily sitting atop a snoozing Russel often times, he packs incredible speed and smarts, usually disappearing somewhere within Russel's house. Russel's become used to the turtle's antics, however, and can find him in a jiffy if need be.

How did they meet their pet/companion?: Russel and Snippy have been together since they were both kids. A young Russel and his mother visited family in Florida, and he didn't quite like the humid conditions there. Always hanging around at the back porch, he decided to wander the area of the yard and dug around the marshy grounds, trying to find something interesting to do. It was then he first laid eyes on Snippy- a little thing, fussing about in some overgrown mosses by a rotting oak. The kit wiped the moss from the critter's shell, and picked him up, minding the mouth that snipped at him. Wherever he looked, though, there was no sign of any other turtle, not a mark or a sound or anything of the matter.

So, as the innocent boy he was, Russel ran into the house and promptly begged his mother for the poor dear, explaining that the thing's ma or pa or brother or sister or any kin possible for a turtle was no where in sight, and he'd be mad at himself were it to die.
His uncle, a spry old geezer, laughed at the bewildered woman.

"Why, Maria, don't ya know? 'S quite common t'have a pet fresh from th'woods 'round here. Why, I've got a gator right on in th'kitchen!"

Russel was able to keep Snippy, happy was he, but never did go see his family in Florida again.
