I am not sure where I got the idea from but it was probably from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets when they destroyed one of Voldemort's Horcruxes. (an object into which you inject a part of your soul and gain immortality unless the Horcrux is destroyed) The first Horcrux was a small book and when they stabbed it with the massive snake's tooth it started bleeding ink.
