Workshop Three - Writing Prompt

Kalon Name: Benjamin

Prompt: Benjamin was never very good at making friends. his demeanor and appearance attracted crushes but not friends. Recently, he reunited with his family and met his new half-brother Alex. His newfound friend, Alex shares odd similarities with Ben. Inherited from their father, perhaps? They have fun playing together, Alex is super hyper and fun while Ben is super smart and crafty. Alex' biochemistry stuff never stops amazing Ben, though. Alex takes interest in Ben's garden, he tells him he wants to clone the flowers.. Ben thinks that's pushing a boundary, however.. because of this, Ben doesn't trust Alex much. well how could he trust someone so mad and immature? he wouldn't let Alex ever water one of his orchids. Ben is quite protective of the orchids that he's so proud of, but one reason is that they're quite unique and require special conditions. Alex understands this but Ben won't let him help out anyway.

Benjamin (Ben)
Has your kalon ever met their grandparents? If so, what do they think of them? He's never seen his grandparents. but he heard his dad's father was a great inventor, who was unrecognized however, for the amazing machines he created.
What is your kalon's relationship with their parents? Benjamin has no relation to his mother, she took him and was gone with the wind months later. George, his father, was separated from him for a long time. they didn't think he'd meet again. George was a kind loving father who got a long with Ben quite well. it was sad a long time.. now that they're reunited they've been finding new things about each other and staying a family like they always hoped for. Ben's step-father/adopted-father Dexter is definitely a father-figure, and Ben appreciates him greatly. Ben believes George, his very emotional father, needed Dexter at the time he lost him.
Do they have any siblings? Are they blood related or adopted? Benjamin was the only child of his nursery batch, but his father had another NB and well he's like.. his half-brother?
Does your kalon have children? Do they/did they ever want to have kits? no, but he kinda wants to have kits in the future. after being separated from his father, he is a little afraid of losing a kit if he'd have some.
Which family member is your kalon closest to? Why? Benjamin is closet to his father George. Well, he happened to have just met his adopted-father and younger half-brother, after returning home. They're starting to get a little close, yet they're still very much strangers. George and Benjamin were close before his mother took him away, so they were reunited recently.
Is there a family member your kalon wishes they could know better? Who is it? he wishes to know his adopted-father, Dexter, better. he's well.. so distant and quiet. he's always there for George when he's upset or just around George in general. he seems to have a very close relationship to his dad, so he wants to know who kept George happy all those months he grieved over Ben.

What is your kalon's relationship with their parents? A little strained but loving. With Mura there's more understanding and Fenris well she respects him more as an adult now.

Do they have any siblings? Are they blood related or adopted? She has two siblings, Hollis and Cosima and a half sister somewhere.

Does your kalon have children? Do they/did they ever want to have kits? Chianti does! She has Angelica, and Morrowind

Which family member is your kalon closest to? Why? I'd have to say Mura because for the longest she always hung around her, curious about everything.

Is there a family member your kalon wishes they could know better? Who is it? Possibly Cullen. Just because his stories are amazing to her and she wishes she could learn more.

Devin is closest to his dad because he likes drumming as well

I'm using my Kal Taiyaki!

Has your kalon ever met their grandparents? If so, what do they think of them?

She's never heard of grandparents in her family line. She has faint memories of playing with a much older kal when she was still a kit herself, but those figures- whoever they were- disappear around the time she was old enough to form more permanent memories. Her parents say they did have parents themselves, of course, but aren't very forthcoming with much information. Over time she's decided that she doesn't really mind that.

What is your kalon's relationship with their parents?

Though she has moved away from where she grew up, she has an easy, friendly relationship with them. They weren't unkind to her, and she thinks of herself as having a typical childhood. When she was old enough to leave the nest, she did, but it wasn't out of spite or frustration, but wide eyed wonder.

Do they have any siblings? Are they blood related or adopted?

Nope! Tai is an only child, and never really minded that since her idea of playing was more of playing in the kitchen or running around on the beach picking random things up. Not really activities you could have someone else around for that they wouldn't complain about if they didn't like it.

Does your kalon have children? Do they/did they ever want to have kits?

Taiyaki has no children, and doesn't think she ever will. Her little home by the sea doesn't really have the room, and she doesn't have a mate or a romantic partner to add pressure to thinking about it. She'd be open to it, but it isn't something she thinks of often.

Which family member is your kalon closest to? Why?

Likely her mother, as she fostered her love of baking.

Is there a family member your kalon wishes they could know better? Who is it?

She wishes she knew more about the rest of her family- it's basically her and her parents, adrift in the world. She wishes she knew more about where she came from, who brought them to this place.

Prompt:
Chandra sadly fails to communicate with anyone other than her son Hoshi, so he would be considered her best friend and is in her eyes.
Even though Chandra doesn't allow Hoshi to live with her all the time because she didn't think it's good for him to grow up so detached from the community, they still have quite a strong relationship and Hoshi visits whenever he can. It's also very rare that that fight, and has practically never occurred, Hoshi being a mamas boy helps that.

Has your kalon ever met their grandparents? If so, what do they think of them?
Hoshi hasn't met his grandparents. His doesn't know his father and his mother, Chandra has never met or made an attempt to meet her parents therefore he hasn't either. He'd like to find them one day but, he doesn't mind as Chandra doesn't seem too want to much.

What is your kalon's relationship with their parents?
Hoshi has never met with father but he adores Chandra his mother. Hoshi is very much a mothers boy, he thinks his mother as one of the greatest people alive and, she in return adores him too. Hoshi doesn't get to live with his mother all the time since she felt it better for him to live in a town, but every time he gets to spend any time with her he is over the moon.

Do they have any siblings? Are they blood related or adopted?
Currently Hoshi does not have any siblings. One day he'd like some though~

Does your kalon have children? Do they/did they ever want to have kits?
Hoshi himself is still a child so he doesn't. He would however love to have his own kits to hug and adore.

Which family member is your kalon closest to? Why?
Hoshi is closest to his mother Chandra. This is because she's the only family he has. He likes to consider the elderly couple that care for him to be family but, biologically they are not and he is also not adopted by them, they simply care for him.
Hoshi loves his mother so he really doesn't mind being closest to her.

Is there a family member your kalon wishes they could know better? Who is it?
Hoshi would love to get to know his father. He doesn't even mind if its not his biological father, he just wants to get to know a father he can call his. Hoshi adores his mother but would really like if he could have a father figure, even if hes partners with Chandra. Having any kind of father figure would just make Hoshi happy.

Has your kalon ever met their grandparents? If so, what do they think of them?
Aurore has never met her biological grandparents, however she has met her non-biological ones,
a.k.a her mother's parents. She doesn't visit them very often, only about once a year or less, but
she absolutely loves spending time with them. Even though Aurore isn't blood-related to them,
they still treat her like their biological granddaughter.

What is your kalon's relationship with their parents?
There is no relationship. Aurore was abandoned at an extremely young age, just a few month old,
and has never met them. She has no idea what they look like, who they are, or if they're even
alive anymore. Her adopted mother, however, has an incredible relationship with her and treats
her like her biological daughter.

Do they have any siblings? Are they blood related or adopted?
Aurore has no siblings due to the fact that her mother is infertile. After adopting Aurore, her mother
decided not to adopt any other kits, causing Aurore to be an only child. Sometimes she wishes she
had a younger brother or sister to love and protect, but she respects her mother's choice to not
adopt any more.

Does your kalon have children? Do they/did they ever want to have kits?
Aurore currently has no kits, but does wish to one day raise some. She wants to raise a lovely family
and have a perfect husband/wife, but that wont be for a few more years.

Which family member is your kalon closest to? Why?
Definitely her mother. Aurore doesn't have too many family members (blood-related or not), but
out of the ones she has and has met, she is closest to her mother. If it weren't for her, Aurore prob-
ably wouldn't be alive right now. Her mother treats her like a princess and would give up her life
just to protect her!

Is there a family member your kalon wishes they could know better? Who is it?
Most likely her biological parents. She wishes she knew who they were just so she could know if she
comes from a bad family or not. Aurore knows nothing at all about her parents; for all she knows
they could be living on the other side of the world as her. Maybe Aurore has already met them and
doesn't even know.
