dear ru,

you've sure come a long way, haven't you? or.. i have, i guess.

it feels like just yesterday i was (you were? im confusing myself now..) playing on the school playground with friends.
man, did all of that change. you've graduated high school! can you believe it? there were many times i thought we wouldn't make it,
but it just goes to show how putting in the effort will help you gain your success, you know?

who am i kidding, you have no idea.

have you thought about what you want to be yet? i know there's a lot of options. it's hard to choose! i bet you're still stuck in the whole "veterinarian" stage. most kids are at your age, huh? even i made a couple of path changes throughout high school. there's just so much to do; so many opportunities! i'm happy with the choice i've settled with now. i bet back then you never would have though about criminology, right, ru?

i've just sent in my college application.. fingers crossed! pray for me, haha.

anyways, i guess what i'm trying to say is, even when it gets hard, or you're unsure about where you want to go in your life, just go with the flow. find what you love to do, and pursue it. you wont regret it, i promise! i wish you were here (even though.. you're me so technically-- nevermind).

Workshop Three - Writing Prompt

Kalon Name: kang

Prompt: kang's best friend in the world is ava (owned by littlelies). they met when they were kids in elementary school, when kang had recently moved to the states from south korea. his parents had taught him as much english as they could with their own minimal knowledge of the language, and after he met ava, she taught him how to speak it fluently. they have been friends ever since then, and kang never fails to be there for ava when she needs him, even though he's always constantly travelling between france (his place of residence), south korea (where his parents live and his birth place), and the usa. he calls ava all the time to make sure that everything is okay, and when he cant call, he still finds a way to contact her, whether it be a text message or over sns. when kang is visiting the states, however, he's practically glued to her side. he tries to act as some sort of bodyguard for ava, even though he's pretty awkward, and not good at it. he also play-flirts with her for fun (don't worry tho damian, he only loves her platonically).

Workshop Three - Day One Exercise

Kalon name: jack couture
Has your kalon ever met their grandparents? If so, what do they think of them? as far as he always knew, he doesn't have any grandparents. one father had a bad relationship with his parents, and the other was an orphan.

What is your kalon's relationship with their parents? jack has a great relationship with his parents. he loves to spend time with them whenever he can.

Do they have any siblings? Are they blood related or adopted? he has three blood related siblings; sixte, majora, and kylian

Does your kalon have children? Do they/did they ever want to have kits? jack has never really thought about having kits, yet at least. for now, he just wants to enjoy his youth without thinking about the future.

Which family member is your kalon closest to? Why? he is definitely closest to his father, malachi. he's very interested in his dad's work/hobbies, and is constantly prying him to show the youngster what he's working on.

Is there a family member your kalon wishes they could know better? Who is it? jack wishes that he could know any of his older brothers better. before he was born, the three of his brothers left home for different reasons. the young male hopes that he can officially meet them all some day soon.

Workshop Three - Day Two Exercise

Who is your kalon's enemy/least favorite person? How did they come to feel this way about them? ken's least favourite person so happens to be my kal, kei li. they havent had a lot of interaction, but kenta once had to visit china (for classified reasons), and had his run in with the known thief. kei stole something very significant of his, and when ken tried to get it back, she forced him to pay largely for it. of course, in that position, he had no choice but to pay up. he returned to his own country soon after, with a new found enemy. (though he's very quick to form opinions, so perhaps if he had gotten to know the female more, they could have been friends?)

Besides their best friend, who else is your kalon friends with? kang has a lot of friends, including my tatsuya, and majora, eunkyung.'s jia-ae, chai, and kyungwon, .andreas' damian, and hinoka's yen

What qualities does your kalon look for in a friend? he doesn't have a lot of criteria that needs to be met when it comes to making friends. as long as they (somewhat) get along, or have similar interests, he'll accept them into his circle right away

What qualities does your kalon dislike in a friend? his biggest pet peeve in friendship is when they don't like music. specifically rock music, or even more specifically; the music he writes/plays himself

Would they risk their life to save a friend? A stranger? it depends on who they are, to be honest. he wouldn't risk his life for a stranger, but if it was a friend such as chai or ava, he definitely would

Is it easy or hard to earn their trust? Why? it doesn't take a lot to earn kang's trust. he puts trust in a lot of people very easily, which is probably one of his weakest points, considering he's gotten hurt a few times because of it
