    @I.C.

Eeek! Whaat!?! The pups would get eaten!? D: That's horrible...
I read an article where it said mothers could go out for a few hours no end to hunt once pups were a month...
Although it never mentioned if this was leaving someone else behind to watch the pups, or just leaving all-together no protection!

Simonpet wrote:@IC: I know that everyone's already saying this, but I love the front page. It's so much more detailed, which is nice. Although maybe seasons should be three days instead (unless it's because you and mods post between once to twice every day)? I'd also like to make sure that I understand the meaning of this quote:
Hunting Parties wrote:The amount of strength needed to kill prey is equal to half of its bounty: for example, one wolf can kill four snowshoe hares, but it would take ten or more wolves to kill a bull moose.

Am I correct in saying that because 1/4 is half of 1/2, it would take four hares to make a single serving (therefore one wolf can catch four hares)? And because half of 19 (rounded up) is 10, it would take that many wolves to catch one bull elk?

we could post twice in a day, we could post once, so i think two days compensates enough.

think of it like this: 1 wolf can catch an amount equal to 2 servings. this means 1 wolf can catch any amount of prey equaling up to two servings--4 mice, 4 squirrels, 2 rabbits, 2 trout, 1 salmon, etc etc. So, yes, it would take nine/ten wolves to catch a bull moose. A bull elk would take seven, and a bull caribou would take four.

they can and do, but packs have a system of everyone pitches in. every wolf plays a part in watching, feeding and playing with pups, and when everyone goes off to hunt the omega often stays behind to watch them, kind of like a nanny. so, while you could leave them alone for a few hours and come back to your pups being perfectly fine, you could also come back to a den full of baby scraps.

@IC: Okay. That makes sense. Thanks for clearing it up, and I might have been looking in two different directions at once when writing the post! Baby scraps sounds so funny but it's referring to something not funny at all.

*instantly regrets making certain predators common in the territory*

Gosh, I hope their den spot isn't anywhere close to the west... especially the North West. Alot of bears are there due to the salmon.
And in the immediate west there's snakes... Probably eagles and other birds too. Not to mention Wildcats due to the higher goat population... (Most dangerous area in the territory tbh. But the gorges and rocky areas are good for tunneling in and killing prey)
The Southwest has badgers, probably alot of coyote's too... But tons of rabbits for hunting. Canadian Geese also roost and rest there.
...The west is full of so many dangers. xD Why did I make it so?

...Oh and then I made the North East wonderful for hunters and poachers - the likes. But that's also the base of a resort/animal conservation museum thing where they monitor the animals in the forest.

The South East isn't any better... Beavers are constantly chopping down trees (although small and young) and can fall on a wolf.
And the South is relatively unexplored so who knows whats lurking!!

They're east is the most protected. HUUUGE lake protects that whole side of them, and brings in some moose. (.mochi lives on the North side of the lake, behind where the human area is in the North East.) I guess the western mountain that's "impassable" also offers protection. Even if something came down they'd likely die from all the threats in the west.

Now that I think about it... the North is also relatively unexplored. But they have ventured past they're river into seed's territory before. They just stay away from the eastern parts of the north. The river there is also really deep, and the current is strong. Semi-rapids area. But my wolves know their waters well and can cross it fairly easy.

    YAAAS!!! DO ITTT...
I need those replies. *grabby hands* GIMME UNCLE SAMBOI!!
Who due to the votes will be called Kudo from now on! (5 votes. Razule had 4)

I only have a few hours left with you guys before I leave for who knows how long. (1-2 hours before I leave now)

    EDIT:
Here are the final vote results.

    Kudo - 5
    Razule - 4
    Nourke - 2
    Kyrou - 2
    Quirn - 1

Due to popularity (And how much I liked the name) Razule will be used as a name for a male pup should my couple ever have one!
It'll come after Rudolphus which comes after Rueben.
So like priority for boy names:
    Rueben,
    Rudolphus,
    Razule.

Already got lil personality's picked out.
Rueben, will be a cool chill guy like his dad, but MUCH more social (Taking after Uncle Sambo- Kudo) and really funny. 50% 50% on dispersing or staying. May keep him around for as long as I can. Definitely trading him off to another pack when time comes.
Rudolphus, will be uptight, maybe a lil shy. Total momma's boy. He's logical, and probably a terrible hunter. Least likely to disperse.
Razule, will be a flirty lil being who chases she-wolves WAAAY too much. (*wink* He'll be open for forbiddens, like Kudo) Expect lots of Sass, and Salt. He'll probably be the most aggressive wolf in the pack, incredibly impulsive. Good hunter, but he acts on instinct rather than logic so he could sacrifice a few hunts. Most likely to disperse.
