How Are Plushies Significant in Their Life? ;; Theo spent most of his childhood life surrounded by white, hospital walls in a windowless room. The type of room with boredom that lingers, and air that smells of nothing but sterile sheets. White sheets, in fact. Ones that matched the walls and gave the room a sense of neatness and conformity. Certainly not a place for a young child, yet it was where Theo remained for most of his young life.

Certainly his parent's gift, a box with red ribbon, couldn't make up for the years he spent prisoner to that room, but they could try. Within that box was a teddy bear, smaller than average, enough that it could fit in the palm of your hand. It was white with red spots, reminding Theo of the sickly kids he'd seen in the hallways. A pessimistic thought, but that room hadn't exactly thought Theo optimism. However, when he turned the plush over in his hand, he noticed a larger red spot on its back. It had a label, "push me," it read. And so, curiosity led him to do just that. "We love you, Theo!" It was the voice of his parents in unison, and it was the most heartfelt things he had heard since his admission to the hospital. He felt loved.

After seeing how such a small gift could brighten his day, his parents began bringing more and more boxes with the same red ribbon into his room. He'd wake up to find them hidden throughout the space, and he'd hop out of bed to eagerly scavenge for them. It became his only excitement in such a bland life, and to this day he has every gift lined on the shelf of his bedroom.

Friendship with Trico ;; Theo met Trico shortly after he was discharged from the hospital. By that time, he was twelve years old without a single friend aside from the plushies he'd accumulated over the years.
