BahatiPrompt:At first glance Gail is not the shy, timid, quiet Kalon she was as a child. The girl has grown into a tomboy who loves the adventure of her job and loves the people she meets. Gail is a fast thinker, a kind heart, and well--she's still pretty clumsy, but she's learned her way around it.
However the young Kalon carries plenty of regret on her shoulders. Her job thankfully distracts her from the pain of being shut out by her father and her own failures as a mother yet the weight is always there. Gail is constantly fearful of upsetting others by saying or doing the wrong thing, and her depression often comes back to her, reminding her how little control she has over her own life. The work of a creature documenter only just keeps Gail happy despite being without the most important Kalons in her life.
Bahati's number one and only priority in life is Bahati. The Kalon's unlimited goal to boost her ego drives her in life, and provides the perfect excuse for her favorite activity--racing. The nomadic little Kalon is legendary in Africa for showing up to put a bully in their place with a challenge, preferably racing, but any challenge. Bahati is loved by the people and seen almost as a savior, even though all her work is simply to benefit herself. Like her ego there's no end to Bahati's spunky, loud-and-proud attitude.

From a rather precarious spot among some rocks, the Kalon scribbled notes and sketches of the river otters, internally squealing over their cuteness. There was just something about the playful critters and their love of cuddling that brought happiness to Gail, and she could watch her favorite animal all day.
Suddenly poor Gail's notorious clumsiness took over and her paws began to slip off the rocks, causing her to drop her things as the Kalon struggled to maintain her balance. The worn leather book thudded to the ground, immediately grabbing the otters' attention as they stopped and stared in Gail's direction.
"Ack," the Kalon murmured, sliding to the dirt and slowly picking up her book. "Sorry...!"
One particularly brave otter took a few steps toward Gail, its eyes bright as it focused on her, trying to work out her intentions. Thinking fast, Gail reached into her knapsack for one of the small fish she'd caught a short time earlier for her lunch, holding it out to the otter. The creature crept forward, sniffing the air, and finally reached as far as its neck would go to grab the fish and rush back to the others.
Gail remained in that spot the rest of the afternoon, the otters soon deciding she wasn't going to bother them, and enjoyed watching her new friends play.
