Workshop One - Day Four Exercise

Write about them interacting with their favorite thing:

I snatch up my water bottle, chugging half of it. I pour a little water over my head and sigh as the cool water snakes through my hair. I shake off and water sprays everywhere. I shoot a glance towards Leveticus, giving a little wink as I dash back to my spot on the field - goalie. Our usual goalie said she'd be late, so I had to take over until she got here. I can hardly see the ball through the blur of paws reaching towards it. Every once in a while I see a black and white blur coming my way, but my team is so great, it never makes it. I stay ready, watching the ball intently. Then, suddenly, the ball is flying towards me! The team cries for me to catch it, so I do what is ingrained into my brain; I catch it. I use my back legs to power myself off the ground and I grab the ball, tackling it to the ground. The team cheers, the crowd cheers. The coach nods to me and our goalie grins at me. I smile and step aside, letting her take her spot. I run over to my usual spot as our goalie sends the ball soaring across the field. It's game time. I weave between bodies, I reach for the ball, I leap over paws in the way. I spot an opening and dash towards it, snatching the ball from the other team. I start to run, weaving between kalons desperate to stop me. I get close to the net and give it a final kick, sending it flying right into the net, the winning goal. Everyone cheers, the team swarms me and picks me up, carrying me to the bench. One of the team members grabs a bottle of gatorade and holds it up. "Cheers!" We all cry and drink from our gatorade. Leveticus approaches me, smiling. "Did good out there." He grins, looking handsome as ever. "Why thank you, Sparky." I chuckle, using his nickname I gave him for his lightning bolt shine and his constant flirting. He blushes and the rest of the team makes googly eyes at us. I groan and the two of us walk away, leaving the team to celebrate.

June sat down on the floor of her bedroom. She sighed loudly, exhausted from the painfully long day she had just endured. It was finally over. Upon glancing at her room, she noticed a book sitting on the floor near her. She grabbed it and read the title to herself.

Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them.

She grinned from ear to ear. This book helped her fall into the magical world of wizardry, a world she loved and enjoyed.

She opened the book again, and began to reread it for the fifth time or so. (She wasn’t quite sure if it was the fourth or fifth time she had read the book.) As she wandered along the streets of New York with Newt Scamander, she found that she couldn’t put the book down.

She blinked, and it was already ten o’clock. She bookmarked her page, and yawned. An afternoon spent reading was an afternoon well-spent, in her book. (Get it?)

Workshop One - Day Four Exercise

Write about them interacting with their favourite thing:
Chandra floated through the forest, down the unmarked path she knew by heart as she drifted home.
The day had been long and exhausting. Her son, Hoshi had convinced her to go to the city with him and of course the racket of people had given poor Chandra a pounding headache so she was more than glad to have returned to her forest.

It was already late in the evening and the nocturnal animals were beginning to arise. Chandra paused as she watched a young owl shake out his downy feathers, drowzy, he could not succeed in opening his eyes wider than a crack. Smiling she turned and continued to trot home. She could never get enough of the peace, the calming sounds of the wind, blowing through the forest and the creak of branches that became disturbed by the gusts. The chirp of crickets added to the ambience and reminded Chandra of one of the main reasons she loved this place, the peace.

Chandra paused once again as she looked at her hut. Her home, made entirely out of wood, crafted by herself, had been her sanctuary for the majority of her life. It is quite a mismatched creation. A multitude of different woods from different states and countries came together to make a patchwork home. Chandra refused to cut down any trees and only used wood she could salvage from fallen trees or dump yards. It would appear a disastrous creation to any trained eye, but to her, it was perfect. It was home.

Workshop One - Writing Prompt

Prompt: Harue likes to pick fights and is afraid of no one. He portrays himself as a good and sweet son to his parents so they think of him in that way. He is not the best at school and gets bad grades, the only subject he is good at is PE, as that's his favorite one as well. He doesn't pay any attention in the other classes, and doesn't care about them at all. He is good at making friends, and that's the only thing keeping him going to school, besides of course the fact that his parents want him to go. He's a real tricky guy and, no one should ever trust him but of course many kals do. He takes martial arts, and it is definitely his passion. He tries to train whenever he has the chance to, and says that he'll never stop doing it.
