Workshop One - Writing Prompt

Kalon Name: Edan Cincil Rousseau

Prompt: Edan is a prideful kalon out of the humble bunch, proud of every step he takes and each word he writes. Though not boisterous with his pride, he still refers to how wonderful his work was, even if the next day he received such work, except instead of just his writing, there's also a striking red ''F''' on the corner of the paperwork. Most of the time, Edan maintains a rather calm persona, though will say something in a lowtone when witnessing any form of chaos. However, he tends to stray from fighting or seemingly aggressive kalons. Whenever Edan hands in A+ work, it would have to be when he hands in an ELA piece. If anything of good quality comes from him, it generally means he has a strong passion for it. An incredibly crafty kalon, he illustrates creative pieces on a canvas- though never truly believes what he has done was great. There's many kalons in the art ring, and he would prefer not to throw himself into it.

Workshop One - Day One Exercise

What is your Kalon’s first, middle, and last name?

Edan Cincil Rousseau
Does your Kalon have a human appearance as well? If so, what do they look like?

Edan has darker-toned skin, as though he had been sitting in a tanning bed for quite a bit. He has side-swept hair, similar to how his hair remains in his kalon appearance. He has many intricate tattoos on his back, similar to the ones he has with his kalon reference. He is a bit short, though only by a few inches. He likes to wear weird contacts, whether they be pure black ones or mixed.
Does you Kalon have any family members? If so, blood related or adopted?

Who is your Kalon the closest too? Why?

Edan is a daddy's boy. He is mostly close to his father, as he feels much more comfortable around him, as his father seems to carry around a positive vibe, however, this may change in the future as he introduces himself to more kalons.
What sort of occupation does your Kalon have? Do they enjoy it?

Edan works at a local pizzeria, while juggling schoolwork and his silent career as a sci-fi writer. He doesn't really enjoy his job, though other kalons he meets in the workplace do make the entire scenario a bit more enjoyable. What he mostly detests is the constant smell of meats and cheese, and having to go through conditions that are constantly tossed at him, all while he holds desperately onto pizza, drinks, and other things the other kalon is to order.
List some of your Kalons likes and dislikes and give an explanation as to why.

Edan hates Math. The constant clicking of his paws on a calculator and the mind-bending questions constantly thrown at him overwhelm him, and always end up tackling and pinning him down in the end.

Like most other kalons, Edan despises the thought of loss, whether it be of a valuable family member, or a small mouse. He doesn't like the concept of losing someone forever, with no hope of seeing or hearing them again.

Edan doesn't really enjoy pizza- though the crust can at times be delightful, everything else is gross to him- the constant mess of sauce, and cheese that can come sliding off at any moment. The toppings can be overwhelming, especially as he doesn't really enjoy meats of most sorts.

Though kind of random, Edan doesn't like mushrooms. Though they can be useful to spice up recipes a tad, he hates seeing them scattered around yards. Their appearance triggers something insides him that causes him to gag, and the thoughts of poisonous mushrooms spook him.

Edan has a passion for writing. More specifically, he loves detailing tales of robots and aliens arriving on Earth, and what will come to happen in his own little world. Though not the best at what he does, he puts his passion and heart into each intricate scribble.

Edan has a joy for milkshakes- frosty drinks that always make him lay back and let out a sigh of relief. The perfect drink for a sunny day, whenever heat hits Edan hard he runs to the nearest place in which he can purchase a nice, creamy, cold chocolate-tasting milkshake.

Flowers are beautiful things in Edan's eyes, which can be clearly shown in the flowers he rests upon his head. He doesn't have an exact explanation as to why he loves the small plants, he has always had a small feeling telling him of the beauty of flowers.

Edan loves small rodents, and other creatures. He mostly enjoys mice, as they are quite adorable in his eyes, and he loves allowing them to climb up his arm whenever they build up the confidence to do so.
What is your Kalons biggest weakness and strength?

Edan's biggest weakness would likely be the fact that he never can truly scrap together enough effort into the work he does. He always scrapes out mediocre work at best, unless the thing he happens to have been working on him caught his attention, and, in most occasions, the work would have to do would be in ELA, which he mostly excels at. This affects his grades heavily, which will likely impact his future. On top of that, his large amount of pride makes him believe what he is doing is best, and that his work is actually good- even though his grades say not.

Edan's biggest strength would be his compassion. He loves others, and feels pity whenever another feels bad, and experiences the need to help. He would never leave one behind, and whenever you're feeling down, Edan is your guy.

Write about a time when your Kalon(s) lost something important or someone close to them:
Edan used to own a pet feeder mouse, which he had "saved" from a local pet store. Of course, like all things, the mouse eventually passed. Though to other kalons this event wouldn't be at the same level of losing a family member, Edan treated it as such. However, mostly, he was confused. Would his little mouse get up? Why was he so still? The concept of death was a new one to Edan, and the passing of the small feeder mouse changed his perspective on such ideas, and he came to believe that it'll be okay- no matter what, someone will be there to help you through whatever loss you feel.

Do they keep promises, or break them? Why?
Edan tries his best to keep promises, however, not always does it turn out well. Some things that he takes on may not actually be fit for him, and, in the end, he may not be able to come through for whatever wish had been asked of him.

Are they a leader, follower, or loner? Why?
Edan is a mixture of a follower and a loner. When the time comes, he follows other Kalons- he would never-ever be a leader. Too much work, he says. However, plenty of times he strays from groups, as, at times, he doesn't really communicate, and prefers for things to be pure Edan, rather than half Edan, half another Kalon.

If they could change one thing in their past, what would it be and why?
Edan wishes he could change the large bulk of time he spent locked in his room, mourning for a small feeder mouse that he owned for probably a couple weeks. He believes he missed out on a lot of time he could spend with his family and handful of friends, even though the duration was only for a week or so.

Do they care what others think of them? Why or why not?
Somethings do have an impact on Edan. If he were to be insulted on his writing, he'd be hurt for weeks, maybe even months. Though, if he had been insulted on his personality or things such as his schoolwork, he wouldn't really care. Though he chooses not to state it aloud, Edan knows he didn't put effort into things such as that- and the insults mean nothing to him. He is what he is, as well, and would never change that.

Do they tend to argue with others or do they avoid conflict?
Edan would never argue with another Kalon. Rarely has he raised the tone of his voice or deliver a sizzling smack to another Kalon's face. He tends to avoid conflict as well, and at most times, if any of his friends were to get into a fight and were to ask for his help, he'd come up with some excuse, such as the fact that he has too much schoolwork to get involved in any sort of action.

Are they more spontaneous, or are they the type that always needs a plan?
Edan makes no plans. Everything he does is done right there, right then. Enough said.

Do they have any quirks, mannerisms, habits, or other defining characteristics?
When Edan is stressed out, he tends to pick of the fake flowers he wears on his head. It becomes a process, where whenever he stresses he picks a flower off the crown. It repeats until the flower crown is gone, and then he'll either grab a backup he has somewhere in his house, or buy a new one from the store.

Edan blinked away some momentary sleepiness as he arose from his aged blanket, and then off from the old, stained mattress he had brought from his old home and into the not-so-new apartment. With a sudden burst of awareness, he realized it was a Saturday, and in another burst, he realized he had managed to get a day off from work, and finished the most of his schoolwork.
He chuckled, a handful ideas running through his mind.

Firstly, he ran to a small cage. Gently sticking a paw inside the cage, he scooped up a small ferret, which now crawled up his arm and slunk around his back. He let out a giddy chuckle, walking out to the combination of a living room and kitchen. He set the ferret down on an average sized coffee table, and dimmed the (for some reason) bright lights. He closed any curtains, and then paced around the ferret. Accustomed to such acts, the ferret remained atop the table, with no sign of stress, or attempts at getting off of the small space. Edan snatched a small flashlight, lowering it to the ferret.

"The gig is up, Eghaphu" He chuckled. "You got yourself trapped, and now you will pay the fatal price for your actions." The ferret rang out in a series of clicks, which Edan couldn't separate from staged fear or anger. "Any last words?" The ferret clicked desperately, before Edan shut down the flashlight, and made an indescribable, undesirably, high-pitched noise.

Workshop Two - Writing Prompt

Kalon Name: Leah

Prompt: Leah lived a casual life for the majority of her beginnings. Of course, there was a little bit of "oops'" where she did something silly like trip into a puddle, or other things that would warrant the giggles of other small kalons. This brutally effected her.
Every giggle, even if it was wither her and not at her, caused her to burst into tears- all it did was crush her small soul even more,
as the high-pitched giggle of other kits raised. The scene seemed to play over and over again, from kithood to teenhood, teenhood to adulthood. Everytime something that caused her to hurt occurred, she would run off and knit, sew, and create outfits- from coats to dresses, suits to ties.

Leah did her best being truthful, and one day, she was a bit too truthful. She had confessed her affection to another kalon, and all she had received was a cleancut "Gross."

Let's just say that Leah wasn't seen for an entire MONTH.

When she was at the age of 18, she had inherited a small building from her mother. Inside it came a wondrous supply of fabrics,
and many supplies to be used on said fabrics. This had been a gift for her birthday, and though she was joyous about the new materials, she still continued to be wracked with grief over the death of her mother.

From then on, she gained profit by making the finest dresses and outfits, and became known for her fine works. However, with the good follows the bad, and soon after she was robbed at knife-point.

The thief demanded her to rush the outfit she had been working on, give it to them, as well as her profits and fabrics.

Leah was devastated.

In the end, however, with the help of some unnamed kalons, she had received new fabrics, and continues to run the shop to this day,

Workshop Two - Day One Exercise

Where do they live and what is the geography like? Kayleigh lives in a rather distant and unknown area, with a small population inside a small area. The geography isn't very observable, as most Kalons who take home there are forced inside walls by the king, as if something dangerous is pending outside. However, there is simply large forests that possess bears and other creatures, flourishing with wildlife and berries.
What is the society like there, is there a hierarchy? The land is ruled primarily by the king, with several high ranking advisers to provide help when needed. There is indeed a Queen, however at most times it is a loveless relationship, with the Queen desiring the relationship for power and the King for an heir.
What kind of technology does the world possess: modern, medieval, fantasy, etc.? Medieval.
Do many or only a few people live here? There is a small population inside the walls- only about 1000, which is a quite tiny amount compared to other areas.
Is the history the same as our world, or is it different? If different, how? The history is actually quite similar, though these kalons mostly did not partake in it. A group of explorers had discovered the land, and developed a small home within the area, keeping it as hidden as possible. However, eventually, a more higher in power Kalon had taken over the land, beating down the lacking army that the founders had owned. The head of the invaders formed a new system of leadership, and any Kalon to join the community would feel as though they had just stepped through a time machine.
Is your Kalon(s) considered lower, middle, or upper class? Upper Middle Class. Kayleigh works as a dressmaker, and commonly is showered by riches for her excellent work, and, sometimes even, her looks.
What sort of language(s) is commonly spoken here? A mixture of French and English.

Story Behind their Name: leah's name means weary, and tired. her parents chose to name her such as, when she was a kit, she constantly fell asleep, and never truly whined, as the time she could have spent whining, she was sleeping.

How many different places have they lived: They have lived in the medieval-esque area their entire life, from birth to present.
Why did they settle down where they are currently: Leah did not have a choice. Only higher officials or visitors are allowed to leave the walls.
Is there an ideal place they want to live, or are they already there: Leah would enjoy living in a place where it's just her and someone close to her. Of course, she's far from that goal
What are the biggest moments that have defined their life: When she was first setting up shop, she had been attacked by an unidentified Kalon. At swordpoint, she was forced to give the kalon her fabrics, and any change she had managed to collect through the first day or so of her shop opening.
Does their future have a bright or darker outlook, and can they change it: Leah believes her future has a bright outlook, as she has been making good money with her dress shop and such. Of course, this can change, as she never knows when she'll go poor, be robbed once more, and such.
