What should count as "preexisting characters" that are affected by the rule of not basing dinzis off things like that?

Warrior cats have no set design , so possibly they could be made, but would it still be basing off that character?
Would Things like mythological gods and creatures have no real design, but would still be "basing off"?

Should the rule not exist at all? Or should it be changed slightly, where the design can't just be taken from the character itself [as in, basing the design ONLY on that character] and must have some unique design?

I believe that Dinzis based on mythological creatures / legends / cryptids / etc. are fine and actually a really cool idea! 0: I think the line should be drawn when it gets into more of the fandom side of things: i.e, Homestuck, Doctor Who, Portal, etc.

I think Warrior cats don't really count, since they're just natural cat colors! C:

However, I would really like a dinzi based off of Belle... maybe crosses could be allowed but purely based off of 1 character is a no?
So I could get a Belle/Cinderella crossover?! O.O

Or they could be tweaked somehow (like blue eyes for belle instead of Hazel or a green dress for Cinderella instead of blue?)

I agree that mythical creatures, gods, cryptids, etc. as well as warrior cats should be fair game as long as the name, personality, history/lore, etc. is different.

I think we should be able to use elements of characters but not make carbon copies. For example a good belle design would probably be a blue and yellow based palette with a design that is a mix of artistic freedom, the artistes interpretation(s) on how they would look if they were a Dinzi, and elements of the character (ex: the rose or the mirror). They should also have a different story/personality than the actual character. Sorry for any auto correct on mobile haha.

I think dinzis should be able to be based off of pre-existing characters (or at least customs should), but with that rule in place, basing dinzis off of warrior cats (example; a Firestar dinzi) should count as basing a dinzi after a character, especially cats with very prominent designs like scourge or bright heart. It's like the warrior pets on cs, they had to stop making them because they were calling them by the warrior names. As for gods and goddesses and stuff, they have no known creator, so making a dinzi based off one shouldn't count.

i've been reading through all the fanclub posts and everyone's art is very pretty and congratulations to everybody who recently got their first dinzi!

edit: oh and what eevee said about the rule about not allowing dinzis with the same design as an existing character I suppose that dinzis could be inspired by their designs, just as long as it isn't a complete copy. But I agree that allowing mythical creatures and stuff seems appropriate.

i feel like the rule you originally put in place was good as is tbh?? i think it encourages creativity and doesnt have people rely on pre-existing characters to make designs and personalities for their own characters. however, i understand that some people might want it, and i dont see as much a problem as lightly referencing a character. however i do think the rule should be kept in place.
