[A Voice Among Many]

Acornpaw got up from her bedding and glanced around the den. She didn't think much of one apprentice being missing since they could have gone out already with their mentor. She stood up and stretched before heading out, deciding to check on Littlesneeze. Hopefully, the short legged she-cat could catch him before she was sent out with her mentor.

Barkthorn flicked her ears as she heard rustling just outside the thorn tunnel, and smelled the unmistakable scent of crowfood. As she excused herself from Graytail, she padded out of the thorn tunnel, following the scent. "I've gotta bury this crowfood before somecat eats it and gets sick!" she thought aloud. The scent got stronger and stronger as she approached the Owl Tree. When she reached the Owl tree, she suddenly froze as she smelled the sweet, familiar scents of Ashfrost and Riverpaw. Were they still collecting catmint? Barkthorn slowly rounded the tree, and her paws suddenly felt like cement at what she saw. She turned tail and streaked back to camp as fast as she could carry herself, yowling for the clan's attention.

foxstar's ears flicked in alarm at the sudden yowl of one of her warriors. she quickly rose to her paws and padded out of her den, towards barkthorn. "barkthorn, what's happened?" she flicked her tail impatiently, worry in her eyes. surely there was nothing bad happening?

"Foxstar- it's Ashfrost and Riverpaw! The owl tree- i went- i smelled crowfood! Foxstar, they're dead!" Barkthorn exclaimed with a yowl of greif

foxstar's eyes widened, but she tried to remain calm. her breathing slowly got faster, her apprentice and medicine cat were both dead,
"how bad-- no. show me where you found them.. i want to inspect the scene for myself," she waited for the warrior to lead the way, "then i'll make an announcement to the clan."

"Y-Yes, foxstar." Barkthorn hesitated, her stomach lurching at the thought of returning the scene. Although, an order is an order. Barkthorn turned and crawled through the brambles, leading Foxstar out of camp. "It's just this way"
