Nite finally spoke. "W-where's..... V-vibrant?" she asked.

Apache stood. "Vibrant!" she called out of the hollow. Turning back to Nite, she smiled. "You're doing good Nite, you'll be ok." she said.

Vibrant's head shot up, at Apache's call, and he immediately zoomed over to the hollow. Peeking in, he held his breath in anticipation, as his gaze locked on his mate. "Nite? Can you hear me?" The male asked hopefully, focusing on her eyes.

Nite looked at Vibrant. "Y-yes, my love. I-i hear you v-very well." she said softly. She sighed. "I-it's good to be b-back." she said slowly.

Apache smiled. "It's very good you're back, you scared us half to death!" she replied.

Vibrant exhaled deeply in relief, as he leaned in closer to nuzzle his beloved mate. "I'm sorry I was such a wreck. You gave me quite a scare." He admitted, tilting his head with a tiny grin. Suddenly a thought entered his mind, and turned around to face the eagle. "Thank you." He said sincerely, giving her a grateful smile. "For helping Nite. She..." A pause occurred. "She probably wouldn't have made it without you. I know nothing about such things." He spoke these words in a whisper, lowering his eyes in shame.

Nite smiled, returning his nuzzle. She nodded at Apache. "I-i have t-taught her well."she said.

Apache smiled. "Of course, brother, i would have been like you if we had lost her, she's the one that's helped me survive for longer than i expected her to. After all, i am a predator. But my loyalties lie with you two." she said. She smiled again. "Nite had a stroke. It's a brain thing, where there is a blockage in one of the blood vessels, or a broken vessel. In this case, Nite had a blockage. The herbs quickly broke it before she took brain damage." she explained.

{Lol! No, of course not, you know I love it! XD My family got a special opportunity to stay at a resort for three days. I got there and realized wifi costs $10 per device for one day. So....i didn't get to use my tablet which meant a tiny break from CS.}

A beaming smile started to grow Vibrant's face when Apache called him 'brother'. Truthfully, he considered her to be his sister. He listened earnestly, however a horrified expression took over his smile when the raptor had finished speaking. "My...that's awful." He whispered, glancing back a Nite. "I'm So glad you were here." He breathed, managing to smile again. Wrapping a wing around Nite, he stood up straighter."You know Apache, you have already Changed how I view prey birds entirely."

Apache smiled. "Dont let my image fool you. Most of the others will kill you both without blinking. That's why i hang around most of the time." she said.

Vibrant felt a shudder run down his spine. "Well, I know I'll never feel insecure with you guarding the forest. You're always there for us, Apache. And I really do appreciate it." Vibrant's words held immense meaning, and truth. He really did mean what he said. "I'm glad you're Nite's friend." He cast a fond glance at his mate, and suddenly curiosity sparked. "How...and when, did you two meet?" He suddenly questioned, tilting his head.

Apache saw Nite try to start, but she made her pause. "Nite and I met when she got kicked from her nest and i was hunting for myself. You could say she and I faught, but she... won. Soon after, she had come back after flying away and me being injured and afraid. When she returned, she helped me heal, being nice the whole time. I... changed that day. Vowed to protect her and her home, no matter the cost. And now i protect you. And this is by choice, i want to be different from the others, i want to help every bird know that i'm good." she said.

Vibrant was touched by the short, sweet story of how his mate had helped and changed Apache. It was truly heartwarming. He listened intently with a tiny smile on his beak. "That's...amazing." He said finally, gaze switching back and forth between the two she-birds. "Thanks for sharing." Vibrant let out a relaxed sigh, settling down beside Nite with his wing still tucked around her. He shot Apache another smile, before a flood of thoughts entered his mind. While he admired the raptor's strong loyalty and views, he couldn't help but secretly pity her. She felt so strongly about protecting and helping others, that it appeared as though she was too busy to settle down and find a mate and raise a family herself.
