palepaw shook his head, shoving a vibrant green leaf back into the hollowed tree. "mousedung." he murmured under his breath, swishing his hairless tail impatiently. they needed to restock, badly, and the odd sorting of the herbs just seemed to tick him off more. he shook his head once more; no, he wouldn't get angry over such a silly thing. he put the rest of the herbs back that he had counted and in neater piles.

Thornheart hummed in agreement. "Especially blue-jays. Rare, but basically the best thing I've ever tasted." He told her, flicking his ears absentmindedly.

Frostfeather sighed and doubled back, trotting back to camp feeling deeply disappointed. He would have to take a trip outside clan territory, which wasn't completely safe- and he knew that and hated it. He walked back into camp and went to his den, poking his head in and nodding in approval when he found his apprentice working. "Still no sign of those herbs." He told him.

palepaw had been staring longingly at the small piles of herbs when his mentor's voice broke the silence. he had hoped it would be good news, but that didn't happen. "great. i thought they were done growing this season, too." he turned toward frostfeather. "what are we going to do if we run out of herbs?" his usually annoyed and irritated voice took a softer tone; that was a major problem. what would happen if they ran out of herbs and a cat got sick or hurt?

maplepaw trotted out of her den, yawning and purring softly. she stretched, shaking out her fur and taking a moment to groom herself before looking around.

"I might go to visit Holy Ground as well, while I'm at it. We'll have to tell Minkstar if it gets to that point. Right now, not a word. We don't need an unnessary panic."

Waking with a start, the fluffy apprentice stretched out her limbs, her tail curling over her back, before padding outside the apprentices' den. She blinked at the morning sun, her eyes taking a moment to adjust. It wasn't long before she spotted Maplepaw and she greeted her politely. "Did you sleep well?" she inquired, raising a forepaw and giving it a thorough cleaning.
