Alpinepaw and Lilyshadow's bodies had been recovered from the river, though Snaketooth had been forced to swim out across the river to recover Lilyshadow; her corpse had been caught on some rocks. The mother and her kit had been buried together, but no cat had time to mourn. A killer was actively slaughtering their clanmates.

The remaining cats stood on equal level, gathered in a circle in the center of camp. Juniperstar looked exhausted, and had fallen ill with a nasty cold during her worry for her clan. Even now, her bright green eyes scoured her clanmates with an air of suspicion. No one seemed willing to break the silence, until Rainshadow stepped forward and hissed. "It was Snowflight - don't you think she had the most to gain?" He insisted, looking around at his clanmates. When he was met with uncomfortable silence, apart from one silent agreement, his lip curled in anger. "Open your eyes!" He spat, lashing his tail. It was then that Rosetail spoke up, a pained determination bright in her stare. "You seem awfully insistent that Snowflight is guilty." She said quietly, her ears pulling back as the anger on Rainshadow's face evolved into cool fury. He seemed to try and swallow his anger, but the sight of his claws unsheathing drove most of the gathered cats to their paws. Littlestep narrowed her eyes and spoke quietly into Juniperstar's ear.

More and more of the clan began hissing to send Rainshadow away, until the massive tom looked mortified. He'd blown his cover. Arching his back, Rainshadow launched himself across the circle of cats, claws outstretched as he threw himself at Juniperstar. He never got close enough to dig his claws into her flesh, and was stopped half a foxlength away by Snowflight and Whispersong. The two she-cat's tore at him and spat curses in his ears. For all of his strength and the lives he'd taken, two cats fueled by thirst for his blood was too much. Juniperstar met and kept his burning glare as they tore the life from his body.

congratulations, riverclan! you've found your killer! it was very anticlimactic and the writing was bad, and i'm very sorry for that but i had to write quickly!
