    "Let me fix it,"

Aozora's spring pear paws reached out to ruffle Henry's hair. "What are you doing?!" She squeaked. "It looks like whipped cream," her friend said, touching the wispy, curled strands that fell in front of Henry's eye.

"I didn't call you over to do my hair," she said, a light blush tinting her ears as the hair was swept away from her second eye. She leaned away, earning a huff from Aozora. "How are we supposed to make a pie if you can't see," she said.

"How are we supposed to make pie if you're━" But her friend wasn't listening, already fixing her bow (tilting it precisely two inches to the right), stretching her arms, and began rummaging through her cabinets.

"Damn girl, these are clean! I'm impressed. Don't have better things to be doing with your life?" Henry let Aozora talk, scrambling around her kitchen and sticking her nose in her pantry, while she absentmindedly flipped through the pages of a cookbook, letting the pretty pictures of the desserts mock her. But the small smile remained on her face as she let her friend's voice fill the room.

"Are you going to help me or what?" A stack of four large-sized bowls toppled onto the table atop the cookbook. "I don't think we need that many," Henry said, trying to inch her book from underneath the utensils, but Aozora only threw more onto the tower.

"How am I supposed to know how many bowls we need? I've never baked a pie before."

"Neither have I, it's going to be a new experience for the both of us."

"Then what are all of these bowls for?"

Biting her bottom lip, Henry toyed with her hair clip and tried not to let the corners of her mouth drop. She'd bought the butt load of supplies for her other "friends," her friends who she thought wouldn't make up excuses to not hang out. The friends who she thought wouldn't talk about her behind her back. Aozora was her first friend who would come to her house to bake with her, the first friend who actually seemed interested in her. Although she swore she'd be more careful this time, Henry couldn't help but be excited about Aozora.

"You, uh?" Henry looked up, realizing she must've been mumbling. "It doesn't matter," she said quickly, "I just love baking." "But you've never made a pie before?" The truth was, Henry did very much enjoy baking. But she didn't like to do it alone, because when you did it by yourself it was just food. When you baked with others memories were made. You got to laugh at the mistakes, you got to decorate and laugh and bake a story.

"Are we going to start this pie or daydream all day long?"

Henry blinked, and panicked, almost throwing her book to the ground. "Sorry! I space sometimes." When at first they met, it didn't seem like Aozora and Henry would get along. The girly, confident and snappy Aozora, and the quiet but quirky Henry. But they mixed like pink and lemonade, and became friends slowly at first, but became super supportive of each other.

Sliding her cookbook aside, Henry began to gather ingredients and smiled at Aozora.

"Is it supposed to look like that?"

    "I have a feeling that it's not."

Aozora's muzzle scrunched up, and a little snort escaped. Henry put her paws up to her face, hiding a soft blush (she told herself it was because of the messed up pie, not her friend's super cute snort). "It looks like a stack of pancakes," she said, and Aozora started laughing. Henry looked from the pie that just come out of the oven to the pie in her cookbook. "We can still make it beautiful," she said, shuffling to her pantry. "I've got frosting."

"Girl, the only way we can save this thing is if you have━"

    "Pink?"

Henry shook the frosting container as she pulled it out. It was, indeed, a rich pink. Aozora almost squealed and raced to take it from her friend. "I've got yellow, too. Let's decorate it together!" "Where are your spoons?" "Spoons?" "Duh." "I have piping bags." Aozora looked to her with one eyebrow raised. "You know? What you put the icing in?" "Need I remind you we're not professionals chefs? I don't know how to use piping bags! I'd only mess the pie up more with bags." "Give it a try," Henry said, holding out a bag. "If you say so," Aozora said, swiping the bag.

Taking their respective frosting color choices, they began to fill their piping bags. "Wait, not that much!" Henry tried to warn as Aozora turned her entire container upside down over the bag. "Too late," she said, "if we're using bags we're using all the icing."

When it came time to decorate, all it took was one unprepared for squeeze from Aozora's bag and pink icing squished out━and up. Aozora shirked when it popped up and landed on her fringe. "Eww! I just washed too!"

Henry couldn't help but giggle and she reached out to fluff it. "Now we match! Whipped cream curls and frosting fringe!"

"Hey!" Her friend cried, and suddenly squirted more of her frosting at Henry, aiming for her hair. It landed on her nose instead. Henry reached for her yellow frosting, and started pumping it at her friend. The two burst into a fit of laughs as they decorated each other instead of the pie, which had one lopsided glob of pink on it.

After a moment, Aozora held up her paws in defeat and said, "Seriously though. Look at me, I'm a mess! Ugh!" "I think you look pretty cute," Henry said, before she realized it came out of her mouth. She placed her paw at her mouth to cover her small squeak, only to spread more frosting on her face. Aozora gently lowered her friend's paws from her face, about to speak but suddenly laughed when she saw the smothered mustache of frosting on Henry's face. Henry touched her paw to her lip, confused, but smiled anyways.

"We should probably start frosting the pie," Aozora said, gripping her piping bag. "Do we even have enough?" Henry asked, looking to what was left in their bags. "Just enough for a design around the rim, I think." "Okay."

The two got to work quietly, making little dots of Easter color around the pie which turned out surprisingly better than either of them expected. "I think it's a success," Henry said once they'd finished.

"Well, what are we waiting for? I didn't come over just to marvel at it! Let's dig in!" Aozora rubbed her paws together, eyes lighting up at the sight of the finished pie. "I have one more decoration," Henry said, opening her fridge and taking out a small box. She placed a lemon slice in the middle. "Perfect," they said in unison.

Aozora reached for her purse and took out her phone, snapping a picture of them and the pie. "I'll send it to you," she said, her paws hastily tapping on the screen.

Henry smiled, knowing she'd remember this pie, her first pie, and her first true friend, Aozora, forever.
