"It was Lillyheart!" Lilyshadow called, starting the familiar process of exile. Third time's the charm, apparently, because the cats shouting names seemed to be getting into it. Though the other half of the clan remained silent, weighing their thoughts and simply watching the events unfold. Of the cats voting, most seemed to be targeting the clan's only queen, Lillyheart. The light gray molly whipped her head around in horror, ears seemingly torn between perking to better hear their judgements and folding back from the reality of it. The sick feeling of dread didn't fully set in until she heard two familiar voices from her left. And it shattered her heart. "You killed them, didn't you?" Poppykit cried, accusation and anger filling her small voice. Even Silverkit joined in, standing close beside her sister and arching her back protectively. "How do we know you're not gonna toss us off a cliff?" The little she-cat hissed. The queen didn't bother to look for Alpinekit, but if she had she would've noticed that the young tom remained impartial to the process, and was instead watching Lilyshadow intently.

"Lillyheart, the clan has-" Juniperstar didn't quite get to finish, because the heartbroken queen has risen to her paws abruptly. The cats around her leapt up in response, claws unsheathing in preparation to protect the little kits around her. The caution was unneeded. With a watery smile plastered on her maw, the former Riverclan queen gave each of her kits a sad look. She seemed about to say something to them, but a growl from the gathered cats cut her off. Determined to keep a stiff upper lip, Lillyheart kept her head high and her eyes foreward - refusing to so much as glance at her former clanmates. The mistrust of her kits had done it; set the queen apart from her home. But, she wasn't without a home to run to.

After leaving Riverclan, Lillyheart crossed the territories and begged for shelter from her family in Windclan. After hearing the circumstances of her exile, the moor cats were more[lmao puns] than a little suspicious. But, with time, they accepted her as a member of their family.

With the absence of a queen to keep watch over them, Juniperstar made the three kits apprentices; Alpinepaw, Silverpaw, and Poppypaw were to be mentored by Rosetail, Littlestep, and Snaketooth, respectively.

Against her better judgement, Lilyshadow had woken an apprentice and was whispering to him quietly. Any watching clanmates would spot two pale brown pelts sneaking out of camp. A tall she-cat and a small young tom. "Where are we going?" Alpinepaw asked quietly, his green eyes bright with excitement. He'd be safe, right? It wasn't like he was wondering off on his own. He was with Lilyshadow! His mother gestured for silence, but he could see the amusement in her eyes - the ones so like his own. "I wanted the first exploration you took as an apprentice to be special." She purred, draping her tail over his back and guiding him along the river. Her smile seemed strained, as if desperate to make it up to him that she'd voted to send Lillyheart away. The only reason she'd left the nursery early to begin with was because the cozy den was growing suffocating. It didn't mean that she didn't love him.

So caught up in their own little worlds, neither cat noticed bright eyes narrowing as a third cat stalked after.

The forest was alive in the moonlight, bushes rustling here and there, owls calling from the treetops. It had Alpinepaw silent in awe, eyes wide as he drank in his home. "I'll see if I can catch anything." Lilyshadow whispered eagerly, earning a wide-eyed look from the younger tom. Taking that as permission, the warrior promised to be back shortly and slithered into the underbrush, leaving her kit to wait beside the river.

Moments later, a figure came through the bushes. "Lilyshadow?" Alpinepaw asked, squinting to identify the other cat. "That was fa- oh." The smile dropped from the young tom's face as he recognized the newcomer, and shuffled his paws guiltily. "I'm out here with Lilyshadow," he explained, nodding at the bushes where the pale she-cat had just vanished. "So it's fi-" He was cut off when teeth met his scruff and forced him onto his side. The force drove the wind out of the small tom's body and made his ears ring when his head collided with the stones along the river. Water lapped the tips of his ears, and fear drove a chill through his veins. "Get off!" He hissed, bristling to try and appear larger. The other cat didn't seem phased by this in the slightest, instead planting a paw on his shoulder and forcefully scooting him up closer to the river. Alpinepaw's fear increased tenfold, and he began to struggle violently against the cat holding him down. Their paw clapped down on the side of his face and forced his head into the shallow water. Water that would otherwise be no threat. He hadn't been able to draw a breath before being forced under, and quickly was reduced to inhaling the river water. Silt filled his ears and stung his eyes - his chest burned and ached while his body screamed for air. Where was Lilyshadow? Where was his mother?

She did come, but too late. The pale tabby she-cat emerged from the bushes with a bird dangling from her jaws and a glitter in her eye, only to stop dead at the sight of someone holding her kit's head beneath the water. Shock hit her first, her dropped jaw releasing the bird with a quiet thump. Rage came second, and overtook the shock as if it were a pebble in a tidal wave. With a wordless howl of fury, the she-cat launched herself across the clearing and slammed into the other cat, sending them both skidding away from the motionless body of Alpinepaw and crashing onto the smooth stones lining the river. "It was you!" She screamed, throwing herself at them with every ounce of strength she had. Frigid claws of grief threatened her, but the heat of her anger forced them back. "I'll kill you!" If only. Quickly gaining the upper hand, her assailant threw their weight onto her hind leg with a bitter hiss. Both heard a sharp snap, but only one let out a sharp cry of pain. Lilyshadow went down, thrown off balance by the sudden transition to three legs. But the pale molly refused to stay down, and tried desperately to pull herself up. But the other cat was faster, and gave her a hard shove. She tried to steady herself by planting her broken leg, but the leg buckled beneath her weight and sent her down to the ground again. "I hope your sins weigh on you like stones." Lilyshadow spat, baring her fangs. The other cat only laughed. A cold, harsh sound that filled her with dread. Unsheathed claws scored brutally down the length of her side, drawing a pained gasp from Lilyshadow as blood welled from the wounds. Everything burned, the molly was nearly blinded by agony. Grief had blindsided her, piercing her chest like thorns. She didn't even try and fight back as the other cat gripped her scruff and dragged her into the river. Here, they seemed to struggle, as if weighed down by more than her dead weight. But it was enough - they released her, and let her sink below the surface.

Rosetail felt worried by the last exile. She'd never wanted the gentle queen to leave, and she's kept clear of Rainshadow since the exile of Lillyheart. True, she's probably overreacting, but she's kind of gotten paranoid, and rightfully so. The Clan's numbers are dropping swiftly and she isn't sure how much longer she'll be able to take it without losing her mind. It's already cut into her sleeping time.
She pokes her head into the apprentices' den, looking for her new apprentice, Alpinepaw. She starts internally panicking when he isn't there and immediately pulls her head from the den, hurrying to Juniperstar's den. "Juniperstar! Alpinepaw has gone missing," she says, worried.

The now medicine cat woke, looking around the den that seemed quite bleak without Pansyleaf. With a soft sigh, Littlestep padded quietly to her new apprentice Silverpaw, nudging her gently and whispering a 'good morning.'
