The brown tabby was just about to head over to the fresh-kill pile when she heard Willowpaw's voice. Turning around, her face took on a puzzled - and then worried - expression. "No, I haven't seen him.... Where do you think he might have gone?" The events of Ashtree's disappearance came flashing back to her. No, it couldn't be that, they had exiled the murderer. But ... what would Flintpaw possibly be doing in the middle of the night?

Pansyleaf wondered if Starclan had attempted to send her a sign. Flintpaw, missing? "I'm sure that he just started his training early..." she said, doubting her words even as she spoke. "I'll ask Snowflight or Juniperstar to organize a patrol. Just in case."

Pansyleaf left their small group and went into the leader's den first. "Juniperstar?" she called. "We have a situation. Flintpaw's missing and Willowpaw thinks that he left sometime last night."

Whispersong had heard the conversation in camp, but said nothing. She hoped Flintpaw was alright, but was very uncomfortable that he wasn't in camp. It can't be a coincidence... He was by far the most confident voter. She hadn't been convinced that Shadewave had done it, so she was worried that Flintpaw had been attacked.

Rosetail snaps out of her reverie (I blame school...). "Hmm?" She stares blankly at Pansyleaf.

Pansyleaf padded out of the leader's den and turned to Rosetail when she heard her. "Oh," she said, "well, Willowpaw says that Flintpaw left the apprentices' den last night..." She left the implication of Flintpaw's fate unsaid.
