Pansyleaf woke and stretched. She had slept well, and hoped that the rest of the clan was just as happy as she was. The light outside of her den was bright and she blinked as she stepped outside. She grabbed a minnow from the freshkill pile and ate it quickly. She looked up, wanting to greet the guard, Ashtree, but did a double take when she saw that he wasn't there. He wasn't the type to abandon his post. Maybe he went hunting?
Pansyleaf was unsure whether to call Juniperstar and decided to be on the safe side. She entered the leader's den and called softly, "Juniperstar? We have a situation."

The delicate brown tabby stretched as she woke, one eye blinking open. Upon noticing her mentor's absence, she quickly got to her paws and trotted to the den's entrance, peeking out to catch a glimpse of Pansyleaf. The apprentice spotted her just as she entered the leader's den and went bounding after her, deciding to wait for her outside of the den. She tried not to eavesdrop, but couldn't help but make out a few of their words. Littlepaw's gaze turned toward the rest of the camp to see if anyone else was awake just yet. Discovering that Ashtree was not at his post, she frowned, wondering what happened to him.

Flypelt was calmly grooming his tangled pelt, as he had just awoken, not like it was much different than being awake. He heard almost uncatchable voices coming from the leader's den, but didn't think much of it. It's probably the deputy talking to the leader or something, no big deal, he concluded, not noticing Shadewave was in the den.

Pansyleaf nodded. "Ashtree is nowhere to be found. At least, he's not near the entrance."

Pansyleaf nodded and exited the leader's den. She was surprised to find warriors already gathering and whispering. She guessed that they too had noticed Ashtree's disappearance. She saw Littlepaw right outside the leader's den. "How did you sleep?" she asked her apprentice.
