Canada isn’t real. Young America couldn’t deal with the loss of Davie and having been forgotten by him, so he invented a twin brother who was forgotten all the time instead of himself, and he enjoyed patronizing this imaginary brother, because Canada’s weakness and forgotten-ness made America feel stronger and more noticed.
