hey hi
i posted on here forever ago but kind of went on hiatus but i'm (maybe?) back now so yeah
i'm planning on doing a sheik cosplay, namely the one from super smash bros: brawl. shes one of my go to characters, and i love her design. i'v been working on some patterns for the thigh armor, but am not sure how to go about patterning the corset type piece she has, you can see better here and here. has anyone ever made something similar before?

her design is just costume different. like this is sheik in hyrule warriors, and this is sheik in ocarina of time. they just have slightly different costumes. ssbb is the only game I have played with her in it, so I went with that particular variation. i believe the sheik in ssbb and ssb4 where based on concept art for a sheik in twilight princess, but she didn't make it into the final game.

I'm doing comp for the first time too this year. it's making me pretty nervous.
I'm entering the wellygeddon/nzcc round of the competition. so I have some time before I need to get everything done.
But so far the wig is styled and the shoes are almost done, I'm waiting untill I get some patterns before trying to move onto making the rest of the dress.

I've never competed in any comps. I'm studying fashion design so I tend to focus on everything wrong with my costumes instead of everything I did well and I always talk myself out of competing.
I'm starting a fashion blog and I'm thinking of adding some sewing and cosplay entries. Is there anything you guys want to see that you can't find a tutorial on? So far, I'm doing a complete tutorial with patterns on how I made my Tharja from Fire Embelm cosplay and my Pokemon Team Skull Grunt cosplay.

I've always talked myself out of competing too,
I probably could have competed with Kaylee when I first started cosplaying, because that was done from scratch pretty much.
nothing has been at the skill level where I felt I should compete since Kaylee.
Constance, with how complex it is, I feel I should enter it. Corsetry, weird sleeves, couple underlayers to boot. and I'm covering a pair of shoes to make them look a little nicer with it.
Harryrose, what did you cosplay? I might have seen a picture of you on the cosplay NZ facebook group
