Ikgrir didn't know how the man would react if he told him that Eris was actually a fairy, so he decided to keep quiet. He took the book that Aaron handed him, and quickly skimmed over the page. It seemed to be a recipe for a simple puff pastry, 'My n-name is Ikgrir." he replied, "Should I start now?" he asked, looking around for which ingredients he may need.

"Ikgrir, that's an interesting name, though I suppose I've never met a dragon before, so I wouldn't know what kinds of names they give their children," he said, not caring about Ikgrir's stuttering. "Yes, everything that you need should be easily found, if you need any help finding an ingredient though, just ask. And Ikgrir, you can relax," Aaron told him with a gentle smile.

Ikgrir decoded it would be best if he got everything he would need out first, that way he could order it in the way needed, without needing to run around every few minutes for another ingredient. Reading through the ingredients list one more time, he began to walk around, looking for what he needed. He could tell that Aaron organized all his ingredients very well, using common sense and the obvious system used, he was able to find what had been listed. Although he did remember that the chefs in the castle said that a good book went away from the recipe every once in a while, and he decided to take a few extra spices that would hopefully make it taste even better. Working quickly, he mixed together the ingredients as needed, and carefully placed each puff pastry on the cookie sheet only am inch apart.

The baker decided to give him some space as he worked, so he went about decorating some already made baked goods. After a bit, Eris called to them, saying, "I'm going to head over to my interview, I'll meet you back here when I'm done." Before Ikgrir could say anything though, Aaron told her, "I know how much bread is out there. If any is missing, you will be charged for it."

Ikgrir only nodded when Eris called. He was intently working on making these pastries as good as he could. Finishing the dough, he put them on the sheet, spacing them apart evenly. Afterwords though, he grimaced as he didn't recognize the oven they had. Usually something like this might not be a problem for him, but lacking the proper igniter for his flames, he wasn't sure how to get a fire started.

Every once in a while, Aaron glanced over at Ikgrir to see how he was doing. He was surprised at how quickly the dragon had found all the ingredients and placed the dough on the cookie sheet. Though he didn't understand why the dragon hadn't put them in the oven yet, that was all that was left to do.

Ikgrir wasn't sure how to work the oven. He considered asking Aaron, since he had said to see him for help, but that was with the ingredients not the actual baking part. He looked at the oven, it should be easy enough to figure how to work, right? He could see that there was a shelf for the sheet to be placed onto, and a firepit right underneath. The fire pit wasn't lit, he had to think of how to start a fire. It couldn't have been much different from how dragons started fire, only with different materials. There was the fuel, obviously the wood and then the igniter to start the flames. There was some flint near the fire pit, and he put the uncooked pastries down to start working on the fire. He didn't want them to get burnt if the flames stretched too high.
He made quick work trying to like the fire, but the sparks weren't igniting the wood, there was no other starter. He did have his own fuel, and to quicken the work, he blew a small amount of hydrogen to ignite from the sparks, and get the fire started. At first, it was like a small explosion as the hydrogen practically blew up in his face, but he didn't mind it. It did ignite the wood, if which quickly burned before slowing to a steady fire. He then set the pastries on the top rack, and it was time to wait for them to cook.
(Yay, real science placed into fantasy!)

(( Yay lol ))
As the baker heard the start of a fire, he turned around to see the pastries cooking in the oven. "Great, now we just have to wait for them to bake," Aaron said. He was a bit impressed that the dragon had gotten the oven working, it was sometimes a bit tricky to start the fire, even for himself. "So, are you and the girl new around here? I know I would remember seeing you around here, there aren't many dragons that live here."

Ikgrir stood up, and turned around now that the pastries would be cooking. He was glad he was able to get the pastries cooking, even if some of the flames went into his face as he did so. Luckily he was a dragon, so the fire wouldn't even leave a mark. "Um, yeah." he replied, "We recently came into town, and are trying to get jobs so we can have some money to our names." he wasn't entirely sure how long they would take to cook, so every few minutes, he glanced back to see how the pastries were doing.
(I just thought, should we play Eris' interview as well?)

"Yes, I guessed that much when I heard her mention about going to an interview," he said, trying to pass the time. The pastries wouldn't take too long to cook, but he thought he could get to know the person he would be hiring, if they turned out good. "So how long have you two been together then?" Aaron asked, not realizing that Ikgrir and Eris were just friends.
(( Sure))

Ikgrir seemed to be doing fine without me, and by the look of the clock, the tailor would have to be closing up soon. Luckily, I had remembered where the tailor shop was, even though it had felt like a long day. Okay Eris, smile, stay calm, and don't use your powers. The more people that think you're human, the better. I repeat this in my head along the way, finally entering the building.
