I mean, the gene is based of thermal version. Thermal vision is only possible if theres heat, so the glow could be the cause of such heat. But its a low enough temp that allows it to survive but doesn't make it blindingly obvious.

And I mean, seals survive with thin coats of fur and thick fat. And then a scientific explanation as to how penguins survive Here that could apply to stalkers.

Don't you mean design and pretty much，i figured out the design when watching preditor and it's way to see is what gave me the idea...

Maybe he's like a snake in a way but warm blooded，And every morning he has to find a flat rock to lay on to absorb sunlight that keeps him warm for the rest of the day(and is other wise slow and cumbersome.)
