Yay! Finally caught a party hat pikachu. She's 258 CP too and a decent move set. I was out with my mom and had seen pikachu around this area before so I brought up my game, and I'm glad I did. Now I can rest easy and not worry about missing out on the festive pikachu. I've got a Santa hat and a party hat now. <3

But at least I got another one and it was finally a female. Every Pikachu/Raichu (and their christmas variations) I caught before is male, oh my.

Well I just stopped to eat after my trip from Disney World, and I actually caught quite a bit
Enough magnemite to evolve them, my first swinub! And also my first Pokémon with the ice-type background. And the party hat pikachu, and its female!
Also a vulpix but it had bad CP

Is swinub uncommon elsewhere? It's about as common as sentret here.

I think they're rare in desert biomes. I know I've read plenty of accounts of people that can't find them.

Kind of like how Ekans is rare in Europe and common in Australia.

i thought i'd post about this. yes there are two new regionals. heracross and corsola. heracross is south americas regional, although you can get from south florida( sarasota/bradenton and lower). corsola has a band that hits certain areas- again south florida is included in that band. both are fairly common in their respective areas. happy hunting!

finally caught a ditto and managed to catch two wild skarmories and a Mantine! Also, hatched a mantine and got another 10 K egg! To finish off, went to a park yesterday and caught a lot of party hat pikachu and managed to get a king's crown which I used to evolve my slowking!

The only news so far is that Niantic has confirmed that the person you want to trade with has to be in proximity to you, unlike trading online to anyone anywhere in the actual Pokemon games.

Personally I'm really happy with that idea. It gives us the opportunity to get regionals from tourists without needing to leave the country ourselves while keeping the regionals still somewhat special and rare.

I was dreading the idea of total unlimited online trading. I feel it'd probably ruin the game. Spoofers with multiple accounts handing out Dragonites all over the place, haha. Proximity trading won't make it impossible, but it'd cut that kind of stuff down.

John Hanke not too long ago said that the next major update is going to be something to do with the battle system. I think they're going to rework gyms? They say it's a major update, so it'll probably be a major change.

I won't be upset if gyms are scrapped completely and a different concept takes their place. I want to PvP with a team of six against a team of six. I definitely want to be able to pick my Pokemon's moves. This would mean rebalancing and introducing more moves so that it doesn't turn into everyone picking the same moves for their Pokemon, though.

Even Ingress has a better "battle system", because there's no limit to how many people can contribute to a portal. If all the portal slots are full, a higher level player can upgrade the thingies attached to portals. I'm forgetting the proper words because I haven't played it in months, but I hope you get the jist.

Wow thats... possibly the most depressing news I've heard yet, actually. Especially considering that I don';t know any tourists, nor is the place I live a tourist destination...

Well, goodbye my dreams of catching them all. It was good while it lasted.

I was saving so many people for when trading finally comes around, but if this is true, I might as well just transfer them all, since no one local is going to need the pokemon than can be found here locally. I'm so disappointed.
