Owlcry sighed, getting to his paws. His stomach felt knotting up as he did so. He winced, turning to Frostcreek Do you mind if I excuse myself to go to the Medicine Den?" He'd ask, shifting his paws. Frostcreek stared at him, worry glittering in her gaze."Um, alright." she agreed reluctantly. He'd nod, hurrying over the moss strewn camp to the Medicine Den.


Frostcreek stared after her brother as he padded away, wincing every few steps. Her ears pinned to her head, a knot of worry for her brother seemed the only thing she could feel. She sighed, finishing off what was left of the Vole.

"True! It's weird that they didn't fly. Maybe they're too fat to fly?"

"You have to pay attention to exactly how you do some signals as well. For example, a more rushed action to indicate urgency or seriousness. Sometimes she seems to think this means your angry though. But she is pretty good at reading expressions so as long as you don't appear upset you should be fine." Swanflower tail while preforming the 'come here' action again, but this time much more quickly. "Some more things that might be useful are 'stop' and 'stay here'." The queen held her tail high and straight first, then bent the tip of her tail to show the next sign. "Oh, and she does best with praise rather than scolding." She put a smile on her face and flattened her ears so that they went somewhat sideways. It was her 'good job' signal but Honeykit would probably respond positively to any sort of happy expression. "Tilting your head will indicate a question. For example, she has a signal that means that she wants to go back to the nursery." Swanflower lowered her tail close to the ground and slowly swished it back and fourth, "If she was to do that signal with a tilt of her head and then point to herself she would be asking if she should go to the nursery. Without a tilt of the head, she is saying that she wants to go back. In turn, I can tilt my head and do the signal before pointing at her to ask her if she wants to go back."

(i don't want to make you actually have to learn a bunch of signals so i'll just say she taught him some more basic words and stuff after this)

Bramblekit was a bit startled by his mother's voice because he wasn't expecting it. The surprise caused him to lose his focus and trip to the ground. Stumbling and falling about was normal for someone just learning how to walk though and he didn't seem overly upset by it as he got back up to take the few steps back towards his mother. "Mama!" He mewled in his squeaky kit voice.

Swanflower, who had taken to sitting down while teaching the tom, gave a soft sigh after she had shared with him most of what Honeykit knew in the terms of signals. She had to hope that the tom would remember at least most of them. "Please take good care of her." She said in a soft, somewhat saddened tone, The thought of leaving her daughter's care to someone else scared her because of the countless possibilities of things that could potentially go wrong and result in Honeykit becoming injured or worse.

Bramblekit mimicked his mother's smile while staring up at her. At the moment his vocabulary was rather small. 'Mama', 'Me', and 'Milk' seemed to be his favorite words right now but he did recognize quite a few others including his own name as well as his littermate's. Lengthy sentences were still too complex for him to understand, generally speaking. He soon started to wander off again since his attention span was obviously not great at this age.
