Has anyone found out if Nintendo is ditching the pay for online play on the Switch?

I haven't heard any news about it, sorry. I highly doubt they will change their minds though.

I really want to do online play with Splatoon 2, but I can't afford it because my only income comes from a part time job and a financial aid refund

Kracken it's most likely going to be a one off payment for a certain amount like xbox and PSN

if I were you I'd say put a little of your change, coppers, or whatever you can spare into a jar or contrainer and save up, with it being Nintendo, a very family friendly company I can't imagine it being more than £30-$25 if that

I dont wanna sound presumptuous I dont know if you're financial situation is really bad or not but I would recommend saving, there's usually an option for monthly or a one off payment too.

If that's the case, I'll probably save for the one off payment

I believe Nintendo said it will be 2,000 - 3,000 yen, which is around $17-$26? per year, so it's not going to be a huge amount, that's like $1.4 - $2.2 a month.
Also there will be a free trial for it until autumn this year anyway according to Nintendo's official site c:

My 3ds (old version) is having issues. I can't use the touch screen (bottom) I tried to force shut it down because I wanted to try shutting it off and Turing it back on to see if that would help but to power off requires using the bottom screen. Idk what to do

You can force shut it down by holding the power button for ten seconds. Or maybe, if that still doesn't work, you can try removing the battery and putting it back in.

For any European users like myself thats £13-£20, or €16- €24

Thats way less than I was expecting honestly.

That price isn't bad at all. That's a lot lower than I was expecting and pretty affordable

I'm still looking at the release date this Friday and hoping that I will have the money to buy it. I mean I've looked at my account and I should be fine, but who knows. I'm hoping to convince my parents to pay half and I'll pay half since my birthday is this month as well and since I'll be home for Spring Break it would work out that I could bring it back to my dorm afterwards. We'll have to see though
