Unfair to you. The Candy Cane Horse is worth 4-5 mixed 09 rares. Rather 4 than 5 because of the low demand of tess horses. Their side only adds up to about two and a bit ^^

It's overpay. Even the spider would be overpay as a 2016 rare is equal to a 2014 uncommon.

The first trade would be 'better'. Both trades offer a straight up Tier swap and I don't think that one of them is higher in demand. The first trade gives you a small fodder for recent trades or just to finish some hoards/collections. The adds are not necessary.
