Hey guys! Does anyone have an idea what gem this guy is modeled after?


I kind have the others pinned down as best I can - the white one (day 17) is a diamond, the pinkish one (day 19) is opal, the purple one (day 21) is amethyst, and the yellow and orange one (day 22) is citrin.

However, I'm not sure about this one, so I'd love any thoughts on it even if it's not officially confirmed to be a specific one c:

Nope they're all Quartz based! Well the artist hasn't confirmed but it's all but confirmed at this point.
Clear Quartz
Rose Quartz
Amethyst
Heat Treated Amethyst (basically fake Citrine, when Amethyst is superheated it turns a bright orange/yellow and is often passed off as Citrine)
Citrine
Tourmalated Quartz

The ones that have yet to grow are Ametrine (purple and yellow - day 12 pup), Smoky Quartz (brown - day 11 pup), Agate/ Quartz Geode (blue banding w/ white crystal - day 14 pup), Red Bracciated Jasper (red w/ cracks - day 16 pup)

You're way off buddy. These are all Quartz family dogs. Though I'd rather have Danburite instead of Clear Quartz. CQ is boring and awful but easy to recognize.

I have a bit of clear quartz that due to an unknown inclusion has rainbow effects in an interior facet. Naturally the person I bought it off of was a newager, so they were like "it's just MAAAAGIC" and I'm going "but...UGH..."

I did test it when I got home to see if it's real quartz and it is, but still...weird little rainbow. I don't know how it's possible with clear quartz...and it's not aura - it's tumbled and the effect is interior. I wonder if the effect would show in a photo. Since there's some rock hounds here, I bet we might be able to figure it out.

But yeah, clear quartz is pretty boring usually. I MUCH prefer smokey or tourmalated, just because they seem to have the most interesting look. So very happy about the PPS.

The only ones I'm a TINY bit sad about not seeing: Tiger's Eye (asbestos-included quartz), Snowflake Jasper, and blue lace agate.

Blue lace would have been BEAUTIFUL. MAJOR fave of mine!

I'd love a set of

opals - plain, rainbow, fire and black

moonstone - plain, rainbow, labradorite (they're related...enough...)

Corundums - sapphires and ruby!

Fluorite - Just that. Just Fluorite. There's several different colors it can come in, and it's SUCH a pretty rock!

The new Quartz litter growth definitely seems like Natural Citrine. If not, Champagne Aura Quartz.

Citrine for sure. I doubt they'd (forgotten the artist, sorry) choose stuff that most people don't know of. They'll want to use crystals people know because then they'll enjoy it more.

Plus as you said - the other was heated citrine made from amethyst (which I'm really impressed was included, actually) so natural citrine would make perfect sense to add too.

Hnnngh does anyone know if there's an Amethyst split? I really want a green amethyst dog

I doubt there'll be green amethyst for the same reason as above. Plus doing a split when we already had two amethyst pups seems excessive.

If I remember right, the pinkish one is actually rose quartz and the yellow/orange one is a type of citrine that's made from amethyst. This one is probably natural citrine. (I'm just repeating what other people have been saying, apologies if any of this is wrong.)

Yes, and the white one would be quartz, not diamond. Three reasons in my opinion:

1. The outline on the blankets and the crystal growths on the adult dogs is a shape that quartz types come in, not the others you mentioned.

2. All the colours make perfect sense for the quartz family.

3. 'Baby' diamond would be yellow, not white. Plus when polished it is much, much clearer than these dogs. More like the ice cube dog we have.

I hope that helps Obviously you are absolutely entitled to your own opinions, but this is my reasoning for the litter to all be quartz types and I feel it's pretty sound <3

Dembai we already have a tiger's eye dog

I'm very much wondering if the next quartz litter dog will have the same crystal growth as the citrine that just grew, but broken off. That would support my theory that every other grown dog has the same crystal growth as the one previous to it, but broken. Does anyone else see that in them?

I may only like one kind of Tourmaline (Dravite) but it is a varied enough family to provide a good litter, I'd think.

Then also a Tiger's Eye set. Hawk, Dragon, Tiger, and Tiger Iron.

I LOVE labradorite. Would highly support a labradorite dog!
