The stranger's words only made him more cautious. He had yet to meet anyone so openly willing to give information about their clan like that. And anyone who would is either dangerous or dangerously stupid. He thought, nosing his way through the underbrush until he came face to face with Mottledberry. Of course! She was a medicine cat, how had he not noticed? That, he reasoned, or she's recently spent a lot of time in the medicine den. "You might as well be openly advertising that you're looking to be invaded." The silver tom pointed out stiffly. He was sure that Rippleberry would've boxed his ears seven ways to sunhigh if she heard him being so rude, but he knew where being overly friendly got someone. Dead in the forest with no one but your own regrets. "How do you know that I'm not a rogue? Or someone testing borders to see which clans are susceptible to invasion?"

Talonstar blinks awake in the nest he's made in his den. Snowheart has chosen to live in what Talonstar thought would be a great place for the warriors' den. They're both still new to the cavern, though Talonstar a little less so since he arrived there before Snowheart, but from what he can tell, the white tom will be a fantastic deputy. True, he tends to stutter, and is a little wary of, well, everything, but as Snowheart often says, 'Better to be prepared for the thing not to come than to be caught off guard by the thing least expected'. The tabby and white ton thinks it's a good idea, most of the time.
While Talonstar has been sitting on the ledge, lost in thought, Snowheart has emerged from his den. He warmed up rather quickly once he got to know the leader, and while there's still things the toms don't know about each other, they seem to be set on a life of friendship.
"You alright, Talonstar?" Snowheart chuckles.
Talonstar blinks, snapping out of his reverie. "Yeah, sorry. Just thinking." He leaps down to join his deputy. "What do you think we should do today?" he asks.
"I was thinking borders. I always heard that Clans have borders," Snowheart replies. "And considering we went hunting all day yesterday, I think it's a good time."
"Well said," Talonstar agrees, padding towards the tunnel.

((SO they're gonna end up doing a border patrol. Anyone care to meet them? (Also if Phina is here let's go your free northern border (can't remember what direction was associated with it XD))))

Sheepclaw & Russetpaw

The pretty female settled comfortable in the nook of a branched tree high above the ground; from the height she had a perfect view of the land below and blended in with the snow-covered leaves surrounding her. There she waited to see who would be on the patrol that was coming; she had grown accustomed to the times Ashenclaw sent out his patrols and couldn't help but wish him to be on this next one.

The apprentice couldn't help but feel that something wasn't right as he saw his mentor leave and decided it best for both their safeties that he would follow her. Unfortunately, being a new apprentice, he ended up lost somewhere and huffed with frustration, no longer knowing if he was even still on Asterclan territory. Walking aimlessly for a few minutes, he ended up walking smack straight into two cats. Scrambling back with fear, Russetpaw said nothing for fear that they would attack him.

Tanglestep strolled through the trees, humming lightly. He wasn't a cat who hummed—in fact, he despised cats who hummed—but he couldn't help but feel a bit more cheerful than usual now that he had gotten rid of Cricketpaw. Up next on his to-kill list was the all-too-optimistic Brambletooth, but he had to make sure that he had Robinstar's trust first. Tanglestep peered around, noting that the BeechClan scent was growing stronger. The warrior shrugged it off, sniffing once more for prey. If a patrol came around, he would simply have to... get rid of them, and no harm would be done. Tanglestep scented a rabbit, and dropped swiftly into a crouch, his hunger awakening. The dark tom tuned out the other scents, focusing only on the plump, oblivious prey that was nearly in reach.

Talonstar blinks. "Oh! Hello," he says politely to the young cat that bumped into him. "Who are you?" It's not an odd question to him, considering that he and Snowheart are just now scouting out their territory. He has no idea who they border with, or if they're friendly, or anything.
Snowheart blinks warily at the young cat. He isn't sure what to think, so for now, he'll follow Talonstar's lead.

Ashenclaw, Patchthorn, Webfang, Dustfall, Frostpath, & Cloudtalon

Ashenclaw angrily stalked toward the AsterClan border. How dare Webfang accuse him of such a thing? He was the LeafClan deputy and he would always be loyal to his Clan ... wouldn't he? He tried not to think about it anymore so perhaps he would be in a better mood by the time they returned to camp. However, he kept finding himself hoping that he would see Sheepclaw. Finally he came up with an excuse to tell the patrol and turned around to find them a few fox-lengths behind him. "I thought I noticed, erm, catmint near the border," he lied. "I'll go try to collect some of it. You all continue the patrol." Everyone nodded. "Willowcloud and Applepaw will certainly be happy," Frostpath mewed with a smile. She tried not to show her worry for her former mentor. This was the second time he had left the patrol by the AsterClan border. She shook her head, positive that Ashenclaw wouldn't betray his Clan. The deputy padded quickly through the snow, searching for any sign of Sheepclaw. It was definitely going to be difficult to spot her amid the snow.

"Of course I am the herb is mightier than the-" Asptail faltered under the nudge that Cinderblaze gave him, suddenly finding his mouth unable to form words. When he finally regained control of his tongue what he said wasn't exactly what he had been planning to. "Actually I think you'd put up with them quite well. You do put up with me after all." The tom shuffled his paws, churning up the leaf-litter in a manner very much unlike him. Then something even more unlike him crept out of his mouth. "And I'm, uh, very glad that you do put up with me. Because you're a good, friend, and unlike family which has to put up with each other you don't have to but you still do."

Barkknot congratulated herself on successfully giving Sparksong the slip, then immediately felt guilty for the pleasure that arose in her at being rid of the chatty she-cat. She's just being friendly, maybe I should her a- No! You'll hurt her! Remember what you thought? The warrior shivered and blinked back an image of Sparksong drowning under her claws. The only thing going down to Barkknots claws today would be the rabbit she could smell so tantalizingly on the wind. Yes, hunting would help. But unlike with fish, hunting rabbits required swiftness, an Barkknot plus swiftness equaled, well... Somehow the dark tabby managed to wind up a jumbled, tumbling mess on just the slightest incline that arose under her paws. Bounding and bashing her way down the she-cat didn't roll to a stop until she came in contact with the warm body of another cat. Not a few mouse-lengths away the rabbit no doubt scurried off. "Sorry?" was all the dazed Barkknot managed, still not quite sure of what was swimming in front of her eyes.

Tanglestep was readying himself to pounce when the rabbit suddenly scampered away. The warrior jumped up in confusion, finally noticing the scent of a BeechClan cat and an odd rumbling sound. "Great StarClan!" Tanglestep mewed in surprise when he realized that a dark tabby she-cat was tumbling straight towards him. He tried to leap out of the way, but her lean form barreled directly into him, knocking him over. Tanglestep blinked rapidly in an attempt to clear the dizziness from his was and the dirt from his eyes. He stumbled to his paws. The strong warrior braced himself for an attack from the BeechClan cat was trespassing, but she was the one apologizing. Despite himself, Tanglestep's whiskers twitched in amusement. "Apology accepted," he mewed, traces of a laugh in his voice. "Do BeechClan patrols often involve cats rolling through the territory?"

"N-n-no! I'm just clumsy!" Barkknot squeaked, shaking the dirt free of her pelt and then continuing to quiver slightly despite herself. "I'm really, really sorry-" In the midst of her continued apology the she-cat finally looked up at the tom she had bowled over, expecting to see a clanmate instead of...this tom. "Wait I know you!" Barkknot never ever forgot who she ran into. Ever. The long list of mishaps she had caused was probably part of the reason she was wound so tightly. "You're the handsome tom I ran over at the gathering! Oop! Sorry!" The she-cat continued to mutter apologies, the heat searing up her back intensifies. Not only had she managed to run into the same tom twice she called him handsome to boot! Well, sneaking a glance in-between her groveling, Barkknot had to admit her really was. No! Shut up brain!

Suggests that Tangleknot moves pretty quickly, like quicker than a normal relationship.

She was just about to head home when she noticed a familiar face passing underneath her. Stealthily scaling her way down the tree, she stalked Ashenclaw for a few moments before suddenly jumping out in front of him, "Boo!" She whispered before rolling over into fits of laughter.

Composing himself, the apprentice cleared his throat before speaking in a clear voice, "I'm Russetpaw, skilled apprentice of the formidable Asterclan," he was trying to make a good impression since this was a new clan and Asterclan certainly didn't need any enemies. "Who are you? I certainly don't remember seeing you at the last gathering."
