"Sort of..." She told her deputy. "Can you and Dandilionheart take Fernpaw hunting?" She asked him. "Not a patrol, just you three. Don't worry, I'll organize a proper hunting patrol to go out as well."

"Yes we can. I was going to go hunting with Dandilionheart anyway, and the hunt will be good for Fernpaw too. She hasn't been out for a hunt in a while." He told his leader. He stepped closer to Flowerstar. "Do you think Dandilionheart would take me as a mate?" He asked.

Flowerstar let out a small giggle. "With the way she looks at you, I would be surprised if she didn't!" She reassured him. "You belong together. Now, go hunt, before the sun sets and all the prey goes to sleep." She advised him. As she padded to her den, she thought to herself. 'I wonder how Coldfeather will react when I tell him about...' She looked down at her stomach. "He would be blind if her doesn't notice by himself!' She softly giggled, then remembered that she was meant to organize patrols in Beefeather's place.

She smiled when she saw Beefeather approach her. "Flowerstar says that we can go hunting, but we're taking Fernpaw with us." He told her. She padded over to the apprentice den, where she saw her apprentice talking a nap. She gently prodded Fernpaw with her forepaw. "Wake up!" She whispered softly. "It's time to hunt!"

Fernpaw felt someone prodding her, and assumed that her brother, Vinepaw, was poking her. "Go away..." She mumbled, batting the paw away from her, claws seathed. "That's no way to talk to you mentor!" She heard a giggle above her. As she recognized the voice, her eyes snapped open. "Dandilionheart! I'm sorry!" She apologised, seeing her mentor's face. "It's okay, Fernpaw. Flowerstar has organized for us to go hunting with Beefeather, and the sun is going to set soon, so let's go!" She followed Dandilionheart out of the apprentice den, and as they met up with Beefeather, Fernpaw could almost feel the pur rumbling in Beefeather's throat. 'Even a kit would know that they like eachother...' The thought of a kit adressing her mentor made her giggle, and Dandilionheart stopped looking at Beefeather for a second. "What's so funny?" She asked. "A joke that Vinepaw told her earlier..." Fernpaw lied. Beefeather led the way into the forest.

As they padded into the forest, Dandilionheart brushed her fur against Beefeather's. "Where are we gonna hunt?" She asked.

"I was thinking up near the river..." Beefeather told them. "We might be able to catch some fish!"

Nodding to the deputy, Fernpaw bounded towards the river, determined to catch a fish and impress both her mentor and the deputy. She swiped her paw into the river, catching a salmon. "Well done!" She heard Dandilionheart call behind her.
