Hollyclaw woke up in the warriors den, confused by the stream of sunlight flowing in. She had slept much later than her usual wake up time: right before dawn. The black and white warrior stretched before padding out into the camp and hearing Brackendash's call. "I'll go," she said, yawning. She usually went hunting by herself at dawn, but it was too late for that now. She might as well help feed her Clan, however much it annoyed her to have to hunt with others. "I'd prefer not to lead though " she added.

Littleflower rolled on her leaf bed, then went out of her den, hearing the commotion. She waddle to the cats. "What is going on here?" she asked the cats nearby. "Has something happened?"

Eyes slowly opening, Minnowcloud awoke to the sounds of the clan in full swing. "Did I sleep in? Ahh..." She muttered as she left her den, seeking out her apprentice, Puddlepaw. Spotting her chatting with Irisshine, she headed over. "Puddlepaw! We're low on yarrow and catmint, so we'll be going to find some more after you've eaten."

It was time to vote out a clanmate. Cats were shouting out names, and Littleflower's appeared to ring the loudest. The she-cat was in complete shock and horror "I-I didn't do it!" the small she-cat squealed. Shadowstar shook his head "The clan has spoken. You are hereby exiled from Riverclan. If you are seen again on Riverclan ground by the next sunrise, you will be ki-" A voice interrupted him. Irisshine. "You can't exile her!" The clan turned to the fluffed up she-cat. "She's my sister! I've known her longer and better than any of you, and I know she would never kill a clanmate, let alone even think of it! If you honestly think she would, then I'm leaving with her!" Her voice was full of shock and betrayal. Shadowstar just nodded. "Littleflower has the most votes, so she must go." Littleflower was already leaving camp, her tail and ears drooped. "It's not worth it, Irisshine. They aren't going to make exceptions just because you said to," she told her sister, "C'mon, let's just leave already. They obviously don't want us" Irisshine stared at Littleflower, then Shadowstar, then Littleflower again. "Alright," Irisshine barely let you. She ran after her sister, then shot a glance at Shadowstar saying 'You will regret this.'

The duo ended up joining Windclan, telling them how Riverclan cruelly exiled them after framing Littleflower for a murder. Later on, Littleflower will unexpectedly become deputy of Windclan, and will always remember how Riverclan falsely exiled her for killing Yarrowpelt.

Mistycloud and Minnowcloud were sharing their thoughts and concerns on the murder and exile by the river. Mistycloud was unable to sleep due to the slight trauma of it and waked her best friend, Minnowcloud, to help settle her fears. "I hope we exiled the right cat." "Of course we did! It had to have been Littleflower!" "But are you sure it wasn't Puddlepaw?" "Yeah, she's my apprentice! Why would she kill Yarrowpelt?" "I don't know!" The she-cats continued talking when another cat came up behind them. "Hey," The cat greeted. "Hello." "Hi! Can you tell this mousebrain that we exiled the right cat?" "Hey!" "I was joking!" Mistycloud let out an irritated grunt. "I wish I could, but I don't believe we exiled the right cat," the cat responded to Minnowcloud's question. Mistycloud's ears pinned down, and got up. "I'm going back. You two aren't helping." "Hey! I'm trying to help! Can I at least walk you back to camp?" Before Mistycloud could reply, she was nearly dunked in the river by the other cat, the cat quickly pinning her when they realized they fail to knock her into the river then drown her. "Help me Minnowcloud!" Minnowcloud tried to help Mistycloud, but was pushed away whenever she tried to come close. The cat was then able to shove Mistycloud's head in the water once Minnowcloud was too weak to get up. The cat then backed away from Mistycloud, letting Minnowcloud see that her best friend had drowned. "M-mistycloud! I'm so sorry... for fueling your fear, for not investigating further. You were right." Minnowcloud choked out. Shortly after, once Minnowcloud gained enough strength to get up, the cat was able to launched themself at her while she was distracted, attempting to give her the killing bite, but fail and ended up just drowning her like Mistycloud.
