Aggh I haven't had the chance to leave my house yet! I'm going out in a bit to the city to see what I can catch! I heard that the candies you need to evolve the Gen II Pokemon are really low?

Did you guys notice that Lapras got a huge CP nerf?! My two guys went from being in my top 6 to not even my top 12... Wth?

I noticed that too I think. I dont remember how high up my lapras used to be, but now it's only at 1400 while my top is around 2400.

Maan yall getting starters and whatnot...
Swinub seems to be the most common around here, along with natu and spinarak.

Well, it makes sense that the evolution items are rare to get - imagine them being really common when you already evolved all the Pokemon and still have 20 of each evolution item in your inventory instead of getting Pokeballs. :\

Yes, it may seem dumb now, but I'm actually glad. ^w^;

For some Pokemon I still don't have the candy amount yet, so I can focus on that first (35 Chansey candy, didn't find a single one during the event *cries*).

About the Lapras CP update: I only own two of them and only one of those was over 2000, so I'm not too sad about it. For arenas I rather use my other 2000+ ones.

The most common here is definitely Sentret, followed by Hoothoot.
Have also seen/caught so far: Spinarak, Natu, Wooper, Swinub & evolution, Murkrow, Misdreavus (ran away) - plus a Hoppip on nearby list, but currently can't go out.

So I have a dilemma. I have two growlithes. And enough candy to evolve one.

One is 579 with ember and body slam. He is a decent Pokémon according to appraisal. He probably has about an eighth or so left in his power up bar
The other is only 14 with ember and flame wheel. He is a strong Pokémon according to appraisal he still has his whole bar.

I want the strongest arcanine I can get. I am level 23

Who should I evolve.

You'd need so much more candy for the CP 14 one before you can really use it.

What's more important? A decent Arcanine now or saving up for a really, really strong and good one?

Arcanine is my fave Pokémon so I would be happy with any arcanine but I would love if he were strong so I could use him to take down or defend gyms.

Had a big day catching today, I feel like I caught a lot but at the same time I know i've barely scraped the surface.

The move set will change when you evolve it, so you don't need to worry about that at least.

Do you already have an Arcanine? Usually what I do is for my first time evolving a Pokemon, I evolve the one with the highest CP. That way I instantly have the new dex entry with a nice CP to go with it. If I'm evolving a Pokemon and I already have the evolved form of it, I wait until I have a "simply amazing" Pokemon to evolve.

I mean, you're level 23 now so you still have 7 levels to go until you hit the CP cap. Every Pokemon you catch and evolve will either become useless once you hit level 30, or you're going to have to feed it lots of stardust to keep it up to speed anyway. Even if it has a high CP now.

Anyway, I got into the city today.

So the Pokemon I've seen (European region here):

Sentret (caught loads)
Furret (caught one, saw some more)

Hoothoot (caught a few)

Ledyba (caught a few)
Ledian (caught one)

Spinarak (caught a good few)
Ariados (saw one)

Chinchou (caught a few)
Lanturn (caught two)

Natu (caught loads)
Xatu (caught two, saw another one)

Marill (caught a few)

Hoppip (caught one, saw one)

Aipom (saw one)

Wooper (caught a few)

Murkrow (caught a good few)

Snubbul (saw one)

Qwilfish (caught one)

Swinub (caught loads)
Piloswine (caught one)

Octillery (caught a few, saw a few)

It's so weird that I saw plenty of Octillery, but no Remoraid.

Also, I caught a Ditto that was disguised as a Sentret. Just a heads up.

I do not have an arcanine sadly. It has taken me almost half a year to get to the 50 candies to evolve him so i am afraid it will take me another 6 months to get more to evolve another. Growlithes are hard to find around here lol.

I have a similar problem but with magikarp. And obviously I don't want to waste my 400 candies on that.

I caught a 133 magikarp 5 levels ago and havent seen anything stronger than that since. The appraisal is the best possible, but the CP is on the lower side. Just today I caught a magikarp who is 155. The appraisal is a bit worse ("has caught my attention" but "its stats exceed my calculations"), but the cp is obviously higher. And recently magikarp have been very rare around here, been trying to get those last 20 candies for a good month now and I'm still like 10 or so away.

The lower CP/best stats gyarados is estimated to be around cp 2115
The higher CP/bit worse stats gyarados is estimated to be around cp 2400

What to do? :')
