Shouts rang out through the camp, everyone accusing each other. There was
no rhyme or reason, and finally, Graystar had enough.

"Quiet!" she shouted, leaping up onto the Highrock. "We will vote--quietly
and peacefully. All right. You first," she said, motioning to the warrior
in front of her.

"I vote for Silverwing," they said, looking away from the shocked queen. One
by one, most of the warriors voted for her, although a few voted for others.
In the end, the Clan had spoken.

"Silverwing," Graystar said, "we must exile you. If you are innocent..." And
with our luck, she thought, you probably are, "...then we will welcome
you back into our Clan. But for now," she said, voice hardening, "you must
leave."

Without another word, the queen left the Clan, turning her back on the
Clan that had betrayed her. She never came back to the Clan but instead
joined Acornstar's Clowder and watched from afar. When Silverwing died,
she waited in StarClan to welcome her kits.

"As Foxtail is now dead," Graystar said once the murmuring had died away,
"I name Robinmask to be my deputy."

The tom looked shocked but somewhat pleased, honored to be chosen as the
next deputy of ThunderClan. "I will serve you loyaly," Robinmask swore.

"I hope you do," sighed Graystar. "And before we leave today, I name Mistypelt
the mentor of Bristlepaw." With that, she jumped down and padded into her
den, wishing that the killer had been exiled.

You exiled yet another innocent, ThunderClan! Before long, there won't
be anyone to exile. You must find the killer...before they kill you.

Bristlepaw was suspicious of all his Clanmates, save for his brother, Jaggedleaf.
His brother would never betray him or his Clan, he was sure, and would keep
him safe.

"Are we still going hunting?" Bristlepaw had asked Mistypelt.

"Ask me later," she replied.

Now, Bristlepaw was hunting with his brother. He had been tracking a squirrel,
and was sure that he would catch it. Only he never did. The killer struck as
Bristlepaw was about the leap. In the short tussle, he was struck in several
vital places and bled out.

Jaggedleaf was uneasy, and began to track his little brother's scent. He soon
came across the body, and with a cry of agony, leapt into the nearby river. His
body was never recovered, but it was assumed that he drowned.

Be careful, ThunderClan, for your first apprentice has been killed! Find
the killer, or you will have no future!

Robinmask yawned as he got up from his nest, blinking his eyes tiredly as he went outside and to the fresh-kill pile to pick out a fresh squrriel before eating, waiting for the other cats to get up.

Honeypaw sighed and looked down at the mouse he had picked from the fresh-kill pile. Ever since the murdurer started killing his clanmates, Honeypaw hadn't been able to eat well, or sleep, for that matter, and every little movement made him flinch. I didn't used to act like this, frightened by everything, I was going to be the best warrior ever, but now, I'm not sure if I'll even be one... He thought grimly, forcing himself to take a bite of the mouse.

Graystar rose shakily from her nest and retreated into camp, expecting to see the daily carnage. But...Robinmask and Honeypaw were out and about, and they didn't seem alarmed. A body hadn't been discovered! Fighting back her excitement, she started to check up around camp. Cat after cat was here. Silverwing was really the murderer! Then she peeked into the apprentice's den and noticed that Bristlepaw was absent. She quickly went to ask Jaggedleaf if he'd seen him - but she couldn't find him either. "Jaggedleaf and Bristlepaw are missing!" she announced, trying to keep her voice from shaking as she went to search the forest, hoping some other cats would follow her and form a search party.

Fawnleap jerked her head up, the announcement about Jaggedleaf and Bristlepaw rousing her from her light sleep. "They're missing?" she meowed shakily, padding out of the warriors' den. A foreboding feeling settled down in the pit of her stomach, and she hoped that it wasn't what she thought. She looked around wildly before loping after Graystar, panic filling her head. They're just exploring, right? They just snuck out and fell asleep, right?

Orchidpaw woke up when Graystar checked the apprentice's den. "Bristlepaw's missing?" Her mind frantically searched for excuses for why he could be gone- he went outside early to hunt, he was sleepwalking, he had a bad dream or something. Orchidpaw refused to think of death. A moon ago, if an apprentice disappeared for a few minutes, no one was concerned! But it isn't a moon ago, a small voice told her. It's now.

Ghostkit woke to the noise of cats outside shuffling around and calling a name. Blinking her eyes open, she at first wondered why she couldn't feel Silverwing's comforting presence, but then she remembered, and let out a whimper. Crawling out of the den, she looked around, wondering what the commotion was about.
