"Stormkit, may I speak with you outside?" Brindlethorn said in a stern tone.

Stormkit looked at his paws and followed his father outside. The two were talking for a long time before Stormkit had finally had enough.

"But that is not fair! You can't do that!" Stormkit wailed as he glared at his father.

"I can and I will! If you cannot act like a warrior then you will not be one!" Brindlethorn yowled right back.

Stormkit hissed and ran back into the nursery, Ashkit and Frecklekit following behind him. Skydapple and Brindlethorn went to a quiet corner to talk. Willowbolt sighed, hoping that her kits would be better behaved then that.

Jinxstar walked over to Willowbolt and bid her a good night before retiring to his den. Very soon, the rest of the clan did the same.

~THE NEXT DAY~

Flintshade was the first away, aware that Skydapple's kits were to be apprenticed today. He was very nervous about being given one, he did not believe that he would be a good mentor. He decided to head over to the nursery to talk to Blackmouth, try to get to know his new-found sister a bit better.

"Hello, Flintshade." Blackmouth said from the shadows by the nursery.

"You're awake?" Flintsahde jumped as he heard her voice, "And you are not with Hollowkit?"

She is sleeping soundly, I decided to get some fresh air before she wakes up. How can I help you?" Blackmouth said, almost as if she knew why he was there already.

"Well, I am just a little worried. Jinxstar said that I was going to be able to mentor Stormkit, and I am not sure I will be a good enough cat for the job." Flintshade sighed as he sat next to her.

"You are getting an apprentice already? But, I was hoping that you could mentor Hollowkit, you won't be done with Stormkit's training when she becomes an apprentice." Blackmouth said in a worried tone, "I fear that none of the other clan members will understand her like you do. I am worried that they might skimp on her training because of her being a rogue's kit. Or be too hard on her and never let her become a warrior." Blackmouth sounded convincingly upset at the thought.

"Jinxstar would never let that happen, after all, the entire clan used to be rogues, loners, or kitty-pets. There is no way that he would allow that to happen in his clan." Flintshade said, "But, if you want I can ask him if I can wait and mentor her. I am sure that Tanagerpelt or Velvetrabbit would be happy to be Stormkit's mentor."

"Oh, please, would you?" Blackmouth's eyes lit up as he spoke, "That would be the best, brother."

Flintshade felt a warm feeling deep inside him at her calling him brother. He had never had time to know his family, and now he was given a chance at a new one. Flintshade nodded and went to find Jinxstar to talk to him.

Jinxstar was walking out of his den, looking around to see how much of his clan had woken up. Willowbolt was carefully walking out of the nursery, her large belly looking like it was about ready to pop. He hoped that she would at least be able to wait until after the ceremony. Skydapple was already out of the nursery, fidgeting over her kits. She was licking all of the furiously, trying to make them look presentable for their ceremony. Brindlethorn was looking on with pride and embarrassment as his kits tried to get away from their mother. Barkclaw was waiting beneath the perch next to Blackberry, who was watching Willowbolt very closely.

"Jinxstar, can I talk to you?" Flintshade called to him as he walked out into the pale morning light.

"Yes, what is the matter?" Jinxstar asked him, worried that something might have happened.

"I was wondering if you might wait to give me an apprentice? I would really liek to mentor Hollowkit. Blackmouth is worried about her and thinks that I would be the best mentor for her." Flintshade said, slightly embarrassed.

Jinxstat sat for a moment in deep thought, then smiled at Flintshade.

"Alright, I guess I can do that. But, do not ask for something like this again." Jinxstar warned as he turned away and jumped up onto his perch.

Flintshade smiled, thankful that he still had his ears. He joined Blackmouth by the nursery, whispering to her what Jinxstar said. Blackmouth's eyes sparkled as her plan started to fall into place.

"May all cats old enough to catch their own prey, join beneath the perch for a clan meeting!" He called out as he looked down at his clan.

Skydapple herded her kits towards the group, giving them a stern warning about being respectful.

"Today we give a great honor to some of the youngest in our clan. Today, Ashkit, Frecklekit, and Stormkit are old enough to be apprenticed. Blackberry, Barkclaw, and Tanagerpelt, please step forward." Jinxstar stated as he looked down at his clan.

After the ceremonies, Jinxstar organized patrols. Soon after the patrols left, Willowbolt started to kit. Jinxstar, although worried, knew that she was in the best possible paws with Blackberry.

Hollystar yawned, stretching. The kits that have swollen her stomach considerably have woken up as well and have begun to kick at her belly, sending her straight to the dirt-place. Bearfang is out on a patrol to hopefully find fresh-kill, herbs, and/or new cats for the Clan. Hollystar is in NO condition to take a trip to the Moonpool, so he will have to go in her place tonight.

Bearfang paused at the entrance to the camp, looking over his shoulder as he waited for the kittypet to catch up to him. While he was out, he had stumbled upon the kittypet at the edge of the forest, peering into the trees. "What are you waiting for? Let's go!" The kittypet squealed, pushing past Bearfang into the camp.

Bearfang led the kittypet into the camp, sighing. "I hope you're not hungry; we barely have enough prey ourselves. Will you stay?" The kittypet stared at Bearfng, before nodding at him. She struggled out of her collar and threw it away by burying it by the dirtplace.

Hollystar strolled from her den, looking down at the kittypet. "Is it decided?" Bearfang nodded, sneezing suddenly. "Yes, Hollystar." She nodded and moved to the kittypet, asking her name. "S-Sandy, Hollystar," the kittypet meekly mewed, fearful. "From this day forward, until you have earned your warrior name, you will be called Mistyspot! StarClan honors your bravery. Welcome to BrumbleClan!"

Hollystar has given Sandy her apprentice name! She is now Mistyspot!

Mottledshade could feel her hopes rising. Her kits would be born safe and warm with Caveclan and the clan would help find Winter. Perhaps life with Caveclan would be everything Mottledshade had hoped.

He wrinkled his nose, licking his lips a few times to to get rid of the bitter taste before turning to Squirrelstar. "I won't let you down!" He mewed, his chest puffed out in pride. The Echoclan cats cheered loudly, their shouts of encouragement echoing way beyond their camp walls as they surrounded the young tom to give him their encouragements.Once the sun rose to its highest point, Raggedpaw set out on his journey.

They had been groomed meticulously, and their tabby pelts seemed to glow in the sunlight. Birdkit sat obediently beneath the tree, but Sparkkit tried to jump up onto the trunk, stopping only when his mother took him by the scruff and sat him next to his sister. Birdkit stifled a giggle as Swiftfern hastily tried to straighten the ginger kit's fur. Robinstar beckoned to Mink, and the young tom cautiously padded forward until he was beside Birdkit. Smokeberry prodded Cottonpaw. "Cottonpaw, I will be going to collect healing plants. Inform Lichenstar of this fact." Cottonpaw's eyes were just clearing up when Smokeberry darted out of the cave. The sun hadn't even rose! Why did Smokeberry have to wake her up this early? Well, it was about to time to start organizing patrols. Lichenstar told her to go with Stoatsock to hunt again. He'd patrol the borders. Cottonpaw reluctantly dragged herself up and went to find Stoatsock.

Pebblefrost quickly takes Honeypaw to train to escape the leader's fierce glare.
Ashflower and Ripplestar's relationship have one strike, two more and they're over! Ashflower and two sons hunt while Pebblefrost takes Honeypaw to train.

Ashflower continued to be in a bad mood most of the patrol, and Mallowsplash and Minnowleap were quiet, not wanting her to take her rage out on them. The she-cat's tail was lashing as they returned home. Minnowleap glanced at his brother, wincing slightly. Their jaws were filled with a raven and a vole, but the words conveyed in his gaze were enough 'I wish Ripplestar hadn't picked me for the raid...Ashflower will get even more mad if she finds out I accidentally got Mossvine, how was I to know she was a queen?'

Brightclover sat with Sunnyflower and Shadepool outside of the warriors den, eyeing the entrance to the camp worriedly. "It's almost been a moon... he only has one day left..." Brightclover mewed. Shadepool rested her tail on Brightclover's shoulders.

"Raggedpaw will be fine..." Shadepool mewed soothingly. Brightclover looked unsure but nodded sadly. Sunnyflower leaned against Brightclover's other side. The two she-cats took to watching for Raggedpaw with Brightclover since they both knew they were going to be going through the same thing soon, since their kits were nearly done with their training.

Echoclan settled down to eat as the sun started to disappear behind the mountains. Squirrelstar looked towards the entrance to the camp, letting out a tiny, disappointed sigh. "I guess Raggedpaw will have to try again..." She trailed off. A heavy silence fell over the Clan. Did he really fail...?

Everyone tensed when they heard the bushes that sheltered the entrance to the camp rustle. Brightclover and Redfeather jumped to their paws, their eyes wide as they waited to see who was coming in.

Raggedpaw pushed into the camp, his ginger fur tangled and matted. He crouched, panting heavily for several moments. His clanmates rushed to greet him. "How was it?!" Witheredpaw squeaked, circling her fellow apprentices.

"Exhausting..." Raggedpaw groaned. He didn't get to say anything else before his parents pounced on him, covering him in licks.

Squirrelstar padded over to Applefur, pressing lovingly against her mates' side as they watched their Echoclan clanmates settling down for the night. "Hey Applefur..."

The dark ginger tom looked over at his mate, nosing her cheek. "Hmm?"

"Have you ever thought about having more kits...?" Squirrelstar asked, looking at her paws.

Applefur pulled back slightly, looking at his mate curiously for a moment. "I've thought about it but I didn't think you'd want to have more after last time..."
